Hey there Chevy folks, HELP!

truck specs are K3500 dually / 454 bb chevy / 410 posi rear / 4x4 / 4L80 auto tranny / supposed 82K on odometer but I think seller was full of sh** / was previously used for towing as it has the gooseneck hookup in bed /

Bought a chevy 94 dually pick up with a 454 [ 7.4L ] about 3 weeks ago...I figured this bb chevy would haul as*....but when you give it the gas, you get this whimpy exceleration and would think there is a 4 cylinder in there....I put in new plugs, and the ones I removed were beautiful...They were slightly discolored with no deposits on them..so I guess they were firing correctly. The engine light came on, and I totally lucked out by replacing the O2 sensor...No more engine light...but the exceleration is still not there? I was thinking of trying the rocker nut adjustments that Shaun H. mentioned in one of his answers to another fellow with a 454...I am also thinking of replacing coil with an MSD, would that help matters?

Just bought 94 chevy dually pickup w/a 454 [7.4L] and the engine feels not nearly as powerful as I thought it should be..It runs smoothly but if you hit the gas it does not accelerate as it should..anything above 2500 rpm is almost non existant...Has 82K on odometer but I suspect there could be more miles from condition of truck..Any way to wake this engine up from it's slumber and also get some more MPG? I also noticed the service engine soon light coming on after driving it 10 minutes or so...it goes off too while driving, then comes back on?? Anyone out there experience this with a 454? My wife and daughter both have tahoes with 350's and they are fast as hell, while my 454 would never keep up with them..Many thanks for any advice, Jimmy
