  • Stockinette stitch with garter border still curls?

I'm knitting a scarf with a cable section in the middle, I have included a border (3 knit stitches in garter)

But the stockinette section with the boarder still curls in on the sides, just after the border. I thought a border would stop this from happening?

I've been trying to keep the tension even

    Would blocking fix this?

  • Do fat people ( who are fat at the age of 16-25)?

tend to stick together? feel closer and be more friendly to other fat people, instead of thin people?

Obviously not everyone, but in general...

My fat friends tend to be closer to people who are fat, or have big boobs, then they can have conversations about big bras or calories, and thin people are generally regarded as evil. I'm friends with them but it took a while to get in there. ( I'm a size 8) and I'm not allowed to talk about bras with them, or I get sad/ tortured/evil looks

  • If you know you are 100% right, would you still apologise if needed?

If you know you are 100% right and the other person is just too stubborn to say sorry, plus there s a person stuck in the middle begging you to be the bigger person (you all share a house) I know she's gonna love it, thinking that she's right, she'll have a field day telling everyone how I apologised. I'm just wondering what ppl would do. I know what I'm going to do, a bit of both. but would you:

    a. stand up for yourself'

    b. swallow your pride and be the bigger, giant person

  • How bad/risky is to...?

Meet a random guy in a club and take him home for sex.

My housemate claims this is ok, it's safe cause she's not going to the guy's house, she'll be in a safe environment, OUR house. She's putting all of us and our stuff at risk, but who cares, she needs sex and according to her this is the only way to meet people as all her friends are taken.

Does the general public accept this is stupid and slutty? or am I being too harsh and conservative thinking you should see a guy a few times 2 or 3 before you take him home.

According to her, I'm being harsh, cause I have a boyfriend (my housemate of 2 years) so I'm sorted and I'm a selfish prude who doesn't care about her relationship status

I think 1 night stands are perfectly fine, with friends, or ppl you know. but picking up guys at bar is stupid dangerous irresponsible and slutty

    She's 22 and I'm 26.

  • Best nintendo ds game.. if you like..?

Can someone help me decide which DS game to buy? I didn’t have a Nintendo so I’m new to all the Mario games except Mario kart which I love.

I like mini games (so you don't just finish the game and have nothing to do) I have My Sims, but after about 10 hours into the game I’m about to finish it. Something a bit longer? Difficult?

So far I think Mario party is the best or Super Mario 64 for ds?

Don't want impossible games ( don't have much patience) or too easy and I want lots of fun mini games and I want to use the touch pad... That’s what I don't like about Mario kart ds.

    Thanks

  • Spanish caracteristics. READ EVERYTHING FIRST PLEASE?

Ok, without criticizing, please describe the character of Spanish people. ( on average)

I know you can't say everyone is the same, but there's always a majority that creates a stereotype and that's not necessarily bad. All nationalities have one.

Every nationality has caracteristics in common made by their history, culture, etc.you might not like it but it's true.

Would you associate a Spanish person with any of this: strong minded?, shy? Relaxed,? Modern?, traditionalist? private? Dominant? Submissive?

It helps if you say how many Spanish people you know or if you live there, and of course, I'm looking for opinions from everywhere including Spain.

I'm not looking for “Spanish people are great" or " I hate Spain", it's not about good or bad.

  • Do you think its wise not do anything in this case?

Two can't argue if one doesn't want to. In order to avoid an argument, I just shut up and pretend it doesn’t bother me. Demanding someone to be there for you its pointless needy and stupid, but the fact is, I know I deserve it, I feel like cr*p atm for a million reasons and being with him would help me, but would you say it? I think it would only make it worst, but I feel the need to stand up for myself, to my friends too, i'm too nice to them, give everything ad only get half in return. I want to just let it go, pretend that I don’t care, just don't let them see they can hurt me, pride pride... lol. But I also want to shout at them that they wont find anyone like me and they should appreciate me, of course that would mean an argument and me leaving the house later.

    - run outs and rute finding conodrums ni idea

  • Why does the media keep talking about the Virginia killer? They are making it worse?

That guy was inspired by the Columbine incident; he prepared videos, pictures, statement etc. He wanted his own movie, he wanted to be remembered, WHY IS THE MEDIA HELPING HIM??? He said he wanted to inspire others, well that's just what's going to happen, some other mentally disturbed kid is going to want all the attention too and is going to do the same. Maybe the Columbine movie documentary motivated him.

Do you think they should have shown the video? Ok, talk about him, raise awareness, but don't make him famous.

PLEASE PLEASE DON'T MAKE A DOCUMENTARY/MOVIE ABOUT HIM

  • Does this exist in UK? or anywhere?

In France, there's a law (the PACS) that allows people to live together, as partnership, or a married couple basically, (even same sex couples) but without getting married, couples are recognised but they don't have the same rights or requirements as married people. Is there anything like this in UK?

PD: it's not got anything to do with allowing same sex couples getting married, this started in 1999.

  • What about toes?

Ok, silly question, the most interesting (but decent) one wins the 10 points. I'd like to get different views on this.

What was the last time you really looked, at your toes (other than getting a pedicure) and what did you think.

Also, do you have a favourite toe? Which one, which foot and do you give that toe any special treatments?

My favourite one is my middle toe (left foot) it has a really nice birth mark ( beauty spot?) on it, and the special treatment? well just make sure I put lots of sunblock on it when I'm in the beach so the birthmark doesn't get messed up.
