  • Does anyone have real info about Black ghost fish eating smaller fish.?

I read a lot about these fish eating other small fish like Danios, Guppies, Betta fish, emptying a tank school of neon tetras and other small fish. This is all in writing evidences. and from people who owned Black ghost fish in the aquariums. I agree that grow large and need big size aquariums to house them. I googled for picture evidence to see Black ghost actually killing, harming any other tank mates. The most i found is the fish actually eating worms from owner hand and videos on them. I know these are nocturnal fish and are active during night time. That is all. It is out of my curiosity i want to see some picture or video evidence to prove that the fish is actually predatory and harasses and kill other fish. I am a tropical fish hobbyist and like to know interesting facts about these fish.

  • Surprising Observation - Oscar Fish?

Few days back I went to local pet stores to get a baby Oscar fish for my Aquarium. I looked around the pet stores and saw many oscar fish of many colors and sizes. I found this little guy with few friends in one tank. I guess it will not be more than 3 - 4 months. It is a Tiger Oscar. He is swimming all around the tank and showing off its colors. After observing him for some time i asked the pet stores guy to net him and pack him for me. The pet stores guy got a plastic bag big enough to hold 3 liters of water. He netted him after chasing him around the tank and dropped him into the plastic bag. He then filled it with air and used a rubber band to hold it tightly. I checked if the bag is leaking and found it is leak proof. Satisfied he bagged it into a black bag so that the little one will not get frightened in the journey. i bought him home by holding the bag in my hand and took a local bus home. On the way i felt the little one jumping around in the bag as my hand shook around when ever he moved. I thought that the little one is getting scared with all the movements of the bus. Anyways after 45 min. I was home and took him out of the black bag. I noticed at least quarter of the water from the fish bag leaked into the black bag. I took out the fish bag quickly and noticed some part of the bag bitten in two places and water leaking. This made me realize that the Oscar bit the bag in anxiety. A friendly advise to any one who are buying aggressive fish from pet stores, get them packed in double layer plastic bags, so as to prevent fish from biting and suffocating in plastic bag without water.

  • Aggression among German Blue Ram Cichlids. Need someone who have hands on Experience in raising them?

    Hi

I have recently got hold of 4 Geman Blue Ram Cichlids fry. They are about say 3 months old.

They are in a 20 gallon tank all by themselves with lot of live Fanwort floating plants.

I am from India where temperatures are humid and quiet good water temperatures for the fish.

The tank is well cycled. I had this tank for over above a year and half. My question to all those

aquarium fans out there is how to reduce aggression among the German Rams. Any tips.

Only problem is 3 turned to be males and one female. They have plenty of space to hang around

but simply cannot stand each other if one sees the other. My gosh they are creating havoc in

the tank and i had no fish in the past so aggressive or so active. They are quite easy to catch though

as they hang most of the time near the floating plants and very accustomed to my feeding pattern.

I had thrown in some sinkable PVC black color pipes ( old aquarium filter parts) for them to hide.

but still no solution. None seems to bother to hide. Just go crazy and pick quarrels with each other.

Any suggestions, Experts advise, I do not want to part with any of these fish. They caught my heart.

  • Youtube videos not playing?

The title of my question may sound familiar, Caution of advise i have the latest Flash player installed.

It is nothing to do with that.

Here is what the problem really is

When i click on a youtube video, the page loads up blank with just a white background with toolbar.

I have to several times refresh the page before the actual video loads up and plays. Once the page gets loaded, the video plays normally.

My question is everyone facing the same problem,so i can take it that it is something to do with youtube server and services or is it only happening to me. This problem recently popped up.

I did not install any new software on my home laptop.

    Any suggestions are greatly apriciated
