  • Sending parcels overseas?

I'm going abroad for a few months and need to forward some cold weather clothes to New Zealand. Everywhere else I'm going will be hot and I don't want to carry a load of jumpers, thick winter coat etc with me. Has anyone done this and which company did you use. How much did it cost?

    Thanks in advance.

By the way I'm sending it from the UK

I'm from the UK and will need to get a visa for Laos. Does anyone know whether I can get one from Britain before I go or is it possible to get one in Cambodia whilst I'm there. I know I can't obtain one at the border crossing into Laos that I'll be using. Thanks

  • DVDs? which type to use and why?

Can someone explain [in reasonably simple terms!!] what the difference is between DVD- and DVD+

  • British and American answers?

Should there be a way for us to know whether someone asking a question is British or American. A lot of answers are specific to which country you live in. I find it slightly annoying to get answers which are only of use in America! Even worse when you don't know whether the answer is British or American so don't know whether it's relevant to you! What do you suggest, a little flag next to your name or avatar perhaps? Let's have some suggestions

  • Man sueing bookies?

Anyone else heard about a man sueing his bookies because he has lost 2 million pounds? I think he is saying that he told them he had a problem and they still let him place money and so is sueing them because they still took his money!

Firstly where did he get £2million from. Secondly I think it is ridiculous, he chose to go and place bets knowing he had a problem, he is the one who should have got proper help for his problem. He should take responsibility for himself and stop blaming others. Looks like he's just trying to get some of the money back HE chose to waste! Please correct me if some of the facts are wrong, there was only a brief piece on the news!

  • Transferring savings to NZ?

I am planning on emigrating to NZ next year. What is the cheapest and easiest way to transfer quite substantial savings to an account over there. Obviously may lose out depending on the exchange rate at the time. Can I open a bank account in the UK before going over or do I have to be in NZ ? Just forward planning!!

  • The UK policewoman who refused to shake hands because it is against her faith?

Is this cultural or just rude. It is an issue in that she is in a job that may involve her touching someone, an extreme case being her needing to give mouth to mouth rescusitation to a male. If her cultural and religious beliefs mean that she cannot even shake hands then why take on a job that does involve arresting/handling/touching other people. Shaking hands is a sign of good manners in the UK and I feel that should also be respected. I would like to understand how this contradiction can be squared with her religion

  • how to put photos in the right order....?

I have photos from my camera and also a friends from the same holiday. I want to place them all in files in the chronological order but whenever I do this my computer automatically places either all mine first and my friends second or vice versa. It does not seem to like them being mixed up. How can I get them to stay in the right order?
