  • Your thoughts on a second reception?

My future in-laws are not happy with the amount of people on our guest list. My fiance talked me up to 150 people- to be split down the middle- and the contract for the reception has been signed since May '08. Now that our invitations have gone out we get a call asking if anyone has RSVP-ed that they aren't coming because they have other people that they want to invite. My family is larger than my fiance's and we have had no complaints or problems from them. Today we got a call from my future father-in-law, on behalf of my future-mother-in-law asking if we would agree to a second reception the day after the wedding for the people who weren't invited to the wedding/reception. Thoughts?

We're against the idea and it isn't going to happen, but I was curious to see what others thought. Most of the people his mother's tried to invite to the wedding my fiance doesn't know well, if at all. When we asked her about it, she said that it was so people could meet me...and him. If they don't know my fiance, why would they be at our wedding?

  • Response Card question?

We're getting ready to order our invitations and have run into a potential problem. We found a website with invitations we like. We have 2 entrees and we're not sure how to set up the response card so we can tell who gets what if a couple/family doesn't all choose the same entree. We have these constraints from the website: only 6 lines and only 37 characters per line (spaces count). We would rather not have to call people to ask since my fiance doesn't know all the people his mother's invited too well.

Any ideas? Thanks for your help,
