What maintenance should I give my 2009 Toyota Matrix?
My 2009 Toyota Matrix has 78,000 miles on it, and the only maintenance that has been done are regular oil changes (synthetic oil every 5,000 miles). Is there anything else I should do to it right now? I ask for two reasons: 1) it is getting high miles and I feel like I should do something to keep it in good shape; 2) it is starting to idle a little roughly at times.
8 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs9 years agoAre Georgia Tech and Georgia rivals?
My brother and I are about to kill each other over this. I say Georgia Tech and University of GA are rivals, and my brother claims they can't be considered true rivals because UGA is in a "higher conference." I say that regardless of conference, Georgia Tech and Georgia are rivals. Can someone help me out here?
8 AnswersFootball (American)1 decade agoIs it ok to sit on an ottoman?
I was at my sister's house recently and she chastised me for sitting on her ottoman, which is a large sturdy type of ottoman. She told me that sitting on an ottoman will break it, because it is not designed to be sit on. This is the first I have heard of this; is it true?
2 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling1 decade agoHow can I design a class ring for my dad?
My father graduated from high school in 1962, and I would like to replace his class ring that my mother pawned when I was a teenager. Does anyone know of a website where I can get a ring with such a long ago year (sorry dad)? I have seen the custom design sites, but none of them allow me to go that far back. I would like to surprise my dad with it, and I can remember a lot of the detail of the ring. I imagine the original was melted down after my mother did not return to pick it up.
3 AnswersFamily1 decade agoHusband Berates Me Almost Constantly?
My husband has turned out to be very similar to his father, who is a verbal abuser and very domineering. I just finished my MBA degree in December, and I have not found a job yet, and it's January 10th. My husband makes fun of me relentlessly for my "worthless degree" and constantly asks me "when am I going to get my payback" for the assistance he has given me over the past 8 months as I finished the degree. The other night he informed me that when I die he will bury me "in a casket made of all your worthless degrees." (I have an associate's degree, a bachelor's degree, and now a master's degree). My husband has a high school education and has worked at the same job for 19 years, rising to the level where he now earns a salary on par with many professionals with graduate-level degrees.
I want to shut down his verbal abuse. I believe in the value of education, and I have confidence I will find a great job that utilizes my MBA. I have professional experience in the field of human resources.
Frankly, he makes me feel so depressed, and it's taking a toll on my ability to feel competent. My heart tells me I should get away from such a negative influence, but without a job, I don't know how to do that.
7 AnswersMarriage & Divorce1 decade agoCould my nephew have Asperger's?
Yesterday my 9 year old nephew had an EXTREME reaction after noticing mirages on the highway. He began banging his head, crying and yelling for us to make it go away. He appeared to be most upset because the mirages are not something that we can make go away. He threatened to dig his eyes out of his head so he would not have to see mirages ever again. He had a similar reaction twice before, once at an amusement park when his father got a ride that looked scary, and once when he tried to get on an escalator but grew terrified of it.
Also, he has some other behavioral issues I am concerned about. For example, he rocks, paces and clenches his fists frequently. He can memorize educational programs on TV (after only one viewing) and then he will repeat the program, word for word, to an "audience" (some of them don't realize he is not talking, he is repeating). He has been chastised in school for not sitting still, but he is on target with his academics.
Oh, and the reason his aunt is asking this question rather than his mother is because his mother is not in the picture.
Should I take my nephew to see a child psychologist?

Is it acceptable to assign a professional-level position to a temporary receptionist position to cover during a leave of absence? Will the exempt person lose exempt status if he does this?
3 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoShould We Buy a Third Car?
My husband and I are debating whether to get a third car. His side: it would be convenient to have a third car if one of the others breaks down. My side: our other two cars are in good running order, and adding a new car to the mix doesn't make sense economically or environmentally. Our current cars include a 1996 Dodge Neon and a 1999 Toyota 4Runner. We own, no payments. I think we should continue to save money until we absolutely need a new car, but he says it is a pain to rent one every time he needs to work on one of the others. Today he told me, "Fine, you don't want another car, you can just walk to work the next time one of them breaks down." He truly thinks I am making a stupid decision by not wanting to tie up our budget in a car that we don't need right now. It's cheaper to rent one once or twice a year than to buy one and pay for it every month. Both cars are currently running well.
