  • Radiator heating & your electric bill?

Hi, I just moved into this apartment on 9/1/08. There is radiator heating and the heat is included in the rent because there is only one thermostat for the upper and lower apartments. I still have to pay a gas bill for my hot water and cooking gas. My landlord just informed me yesterday that the electric for the boiler will be on MY electric bill. My bill for September was $59. I phoned the electric company today and they told me the monthly average for last year was $94. Quite a jump from $59.

My question is to anyone living in a cold winter climate and who has radiator type heating, what's your average winter electric bill?

  • Is there a way to make a cat appear de-clawed without actually having them de-clawed?

Hi, I am moving into an apartment where the landlord will allow cats but only fully declawed. I know that declawing a cat is equivalent to chopping of my fingers to the first knuckle and I don't really want to do that to him. Is there anything that can be done to make a cat appear to be declawed that isn't so mean?

  • New York state overtime laws?

Hi, I cannot seem to find the answer on my own, I hope someone can help.

Monday was a holiday for which we are paid. Tuesday through Friday were manditory 10 hour days. Friday they said we would not be getting paid the 8 hours of overtime because we did not work a "normal" 40 hour week. Is this bull or what?

I would appreciate it if you would cite your information so that I can look into it. Thank you.

  • 1985 Ford LTD Oil Change?

    Hey all,

I am going to change the oil in my car but I don't know what the oil pan looks like. What does it look like? Will I need any special tools? Will the filter just unscrew? Does the oil filter say "oil filter" on it? The local autozone will take the oil but what do I take it there in? I don't want to buy any kind of container. How do I get my car up on the ramp things? Any suggestions or tip on changing your own oil is welcome. Thanks!
