Well I like to surf the web, Collect old MOPARS and do a bit of work on them, like online gaming, spending time with the kids, working with wood crafts and such! I am disabled and get around a bit slower than most...LOL But I make do! I like to make each new day a challenge and try to learn something new each day! For we are never to old to learn!
1998 Dodge 1500 Transmission, The fluid and Filter were changed and the temp and tranny light still come on?
The fluid and filter were changed and the system was flushed... and after driving it about 30 or 40 miles the lights came on for the transmission! I checked it and the fluid was BLACK and smells burnt, it stills drives and shifts ok yet!! What should a person do about this?? It is a 1998 4x4 in exellent shape! Whats a new transmission cost or will a person have the same problem with it?? My other Dodges never had this problem ... but they are all pre 1990!! The garage says to just drive it till it dies!! can anything be done to prevent it from crapping out?? and costing a ton of money? Whats a new tranny cost to put in these days as well??

It runs in 2nd, 3rd, & 4th. Fluid lvl is good! Does anyone know if the shifting linkage is shared with 1st, & reverse and how to fix the problem? It runs great otherwise! Its the Charger 2.2, 4-sd, 2 dr, hatchback! but 1st, and reverse don't work... but seems to go into the gear when shift into it! PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks in advance!
