math question help please?
Jake is becoming a chauffeur. He wants to quantify his potential annual costs. His fixed monthly costs are a $250 car payment for his car and$150 for his car insurance. He estimates the gas, oil change and maintain of the car would be $0.27/per mile.
I need to find the equation where where the total annual costs, y, and the number of miles, x, are linearly related; plus a fixed annual cost.
I'd be really happy to get any help, I keep messing up something and its making my whole answer wrong.

2 AnswersMathematics6 years agoHit the persons side mirror and they have expired insurance?
I had to swerve to avoid hitting an incompetent drivers and I ended up hitting the side mirror of the car on my right. No major damage done, just popped the cover of his mirror off. The mirror was perfectly fine, the cover was popped off. I accepted I was at fault exchanged my insurance information for his and he just handed me papers and I took pictures of them. His insurance is expired, I haven't told him I discovered that yet. He asked me if I want to pay him without getting insurance involved.
Do I have to pay him anything if his insurance expired? His insurance expired last year in May

Jaguar contracted to sell a new 2002 S-type car to Jim. An oversight in the building of the car led to the installation of a ten-year-old engine with over 50,000 miles already on it. When Jim’s mechanic made Jim aware of the problem, Jim demanded that Jaguar replace it. Because of the cost of replacing the engine and the loss in value when the car left the lot, Jaguar refused. Jim sued Jaguar. Based on the reasoning in Jacob & Youngs, Inc. v. Kent, the court in this case would most likely rule in favor of
A. Jim, because the engine was not exactly as the contract had specified.
B. Jim, because the installed engine was not of the same quality as a new engine.
C. Jaguar, because the omission was both trivial and innocent.
D. Jaguar, because the installed engine was of the same quality, appearance, market value, and cost as a new engine.
I'm positive it's not the first one.

Delta Construction Corporation, a general contractor, hires Eagle Electrical Company, a subcontractor, to wire a new office building. As the work progresses, Delta pays Eagle some of the price, but after completing most of the job, Eagle is owed more than $50,000. Eagle stops work to insist on being paid. Delta hires Fine Wiring, Inc., to finish the job. Eagle files a suit against Delta. Eagle’s suspension of work is most likely
A. complete performance.
B. substantial, but not complete, performance.
C. a material breach.
D. excused by Delta’s failure to pay.
It's not B, I got it wrong for putting B.
1 AnswerLaw & Ethics6 years agoAccident... legal questions?
My brother was crossing the street and he was hit by a car. His shoulder was dislocated, bruises all over his front, his back and elbow were really scraped. Worst was his skull was fractured and that caused bleeding in his brain. He's recovering, but there are lasting consequences. He's in severe pain and the bleeding in his brain is caused by a damaged artery vein. Even though now the bleeding ceased, he's not allowed to be put in stressful situations or anything that is too stimulating. I'm really grateful he's fine, but he didn't deserve this.
I want that woman who hit to face consequences, too. She ruined my brother's life, I want her to face some sort of punishment. I know she wont get prison time or anything, but I think her license should be taken away. He's only 21 and a good kid, he's super smart, too. He had just finished giving an interview for job he really wanted and he was so happy and she hit with her car.
Now he was told by his doctor to drop out of school. He's not allowed to go on rides or do anything fun that kids his age are allowed to because this stupid woman didn't slow down.
Do you know any legal action I can take against this person?

1 AnswerHomework Help6 years agoEmpty feeling in the middle of the night?
I wake up every few days in the middle of the night, out of deep sleep feeling empty. I just wake up with this realization that I've done nothing with my life. I feel really empty and hollow. I'm working towards accomplishing my goals and I'm just a few steps from getting into the job I want. Yet I still wake up feeling so hollow until I feel utterly empty and drained. I just feel like I've wasted away my existences (which I have not), but for some reason I just jerk out of my sleep with this realization. I don't know why, but it's affecting my daily life. Does anyone else have this happen to them? It's becoming really frequent and I'm becoming truly miserable.

3 AnswersHomework Help7 years agoNice guy, dumped me out of the blue - what went wrong?
I was dating this really nice respectful, wonderful guy since Feb.
I work and study full time, so I tried to discourage the relationship and tried to break it off with him April. He refused to give up and we were going steady. It was a long distance relationship, but we texted all day long right up to bedtime.
I wasn't able to make time for him for the past two weeks because of work and I was trying make sure August is completely free. He knew I was working so we'd be have time together in August. I always go see him on my day off, he doesn't really like going anywhere. He told me loved me through text a few months ago, he never said it in person and I felt too guilty to say it back. I was going to say it to him this weekend.
He texted me a week ago saying "good luck" and he wishes me the best. He just broke it off with me, I'm confused and kind in shock. I've been pouring my heart into this relationship. I was finishing everything. I promised him August and he just broke it off with me. We were looking forward to it, did I miss something? I'm actually confused and l think in shock - did I do something wrong?

1 AnswerSingles & Dating7 years agoI'm ashamed of myself because of this and I never stop shaming myself?
After high school, I got into every college I applied to, even an Ivy League one. Then I got a scholarship to an art college close that was close my parents place and I went for it. As soon as I began, I knew it was a mistake and dropped out of college after 3 months. I was successful in finding different kinds of jobs, I worked as a writer for many years. After I got a decent amount of experience I got promoted to editor. I worked in a retirement community and also as tutor for special children.
Three years ago, I decided to go back to college and I had to start from the bottom. Now I'm 25 and most of my friends are done with their education. I just feel ashamed of myself for making the wrong turn and I never stop belittling myself. I feel ashamed for still being in community college, I just feel disgust at every turn for myself. I feel so discouraged with myself and negativity is preventing me from speeding my process of getting out of community college and transferring.

I met this really nice guy a few months ago, he is amazing, polite, and just wonderful. We live almost an hour away from each other so we only see each other once a week. We're both 25 and I'm a full time student and he works full time. We been seeing each other for 5 months now, two months ago he became really upset because I couldn't come and see him and we broke it off. That night itself he called me and apologized profusely and stopped being pushy about anything after that. He always texts me right away and we haven't had sex yet. Since the fight I've been on guard waiting for him to break it off with me, again. I don't let my guard down easy and also my main focus is my education, I've worked so hard to reach this level and I've told him how important my studies.
I don't want to let go of him, I know it's selfish but I live in Los Angeles and I haven't come across a decent guy like him. He doesn't play games and texts me right away, he texts me all day til he falls asleep. He answers any questions I have and he is very patient. I've actually told him he should see other people because I can't give him my time because I'm always going to put studies first - I've spend two years dedicating myself to my education and ....I'm confused, I'm afraid he'll fall in love with me or I'll fall in love with him. My friend thinks he is in love with me, I don't really even know what to do. Any advice would be useful, if you want to criticize me have a go at me.
Thanks!
