  • Does Ex-Boyfriend Have Parental Rights?

I recently started seeing a girl that has a one year-old, and we have a psycho ex-boyfriend situation. Here are the facts:

-Ex Boyfriend is not the child's biological father.

    -The two were never married.

-He was not on the birth certificate when the child was born, however he -might- have sent in a form to be added to it later, when the two were on good terms. The form was signed but we are not sure if it was ever mailed, we are going to acquire the birth certificate in the next few days.

He is claiming he has parental rights to the child, even though he is not the child's father and was only around for a few months after the child was born. Besides being incredibly creepy, this also sounds inaccurate.

Is he legally the child's parent if he was added to the certificate? And if so, what is the process for having him removed as such considering he is not the child actual father? We live in Oklahoma.

Thanks in advance for any answers.

  • Felony Assault on a Detention Officer?

My best friend was doing time in county for Violation of a Protective Order, and two days before he got out, he was hit with Felony Assault on a Detention Officer. Apparently he got into a fight with a guard over the stacking of lunch trays. I know, I know.... not making this up.

Anyway, he's already a felon from a previous nonviolent charge. What is he looking at in terms of sentencing if convicted? Lives in Oklahoma.

    Thanks.

  • How To Soundproof Apartment Window?

I love my apartment, but my bedroom window blocks off absolutely zero sound. I can hear entire conversations going on in the parking lot while trying to sleep. I'd like to block off the entire window area (hopefully on the cheap) and hide it with curtains inside. Here's the kicker; per my rental agreement, I'm not allowed to remove the miniblinds.

I've read that vinyl can be used, as well as sheet rock. Can someone explain the process? Do I just screw it to the wall around the window? The windows are about 5' x 4'

    Thanks!

  • Filing Claim Against Someone Selling My Music Illegally?

My issue is this: my band cut a CD in 2007. We financed and produced it ourselves, and through a third party hooked up with a 'local label' (aka one dude that drove a nice car). We entered a contract with him to press X amount of copies of our already-produced album, handle the artwork, ect in exchange for the difference in what he paid for the CDs from the press and what we paid him for each one, as well as an option on our next record. This was settled with a very short, simple contract.

Anyway, it's 2012. He is dead, the contract we had (as well as our masters) was trashed by his family, and our music is for sale online in every possible venue via The Orchard. Itunes, Amazon, ect. Of course, the shady group known as The Orchard has ignored my persistent requests to either take the music down or hand the late label owners account over to me. I was infuriated today to receive an email from Youtube claiming that music on my Youtube account was property of the IODA/The Orchard.

I've had enough. I am in communication with Itunes and it looks like they may take it down, but there are countless online stores selling my music. Can someone suggest my next move?

  • Need Help Confirming a Match in my Family Tree?

My Great-Grandmother, Roza Bergine (b 1892), immigrated to America in 1913. On her Ellis Island papers, she lists on "Therezia Berginia" in Dreznica as her mother. I have been searching for her family for some time, and recently found the below record of Terezija Berginc (b 1860) on Family Search.

    https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.2.1/ST65-Y94

According to the record Terezija's Brother, Jožef (b 1858), also married a woman name Terezija in 1882 (thus becoming Terezija Bergine as well), but their three children are listed as Joseph, Marry, and Louis, mean while the 1860 Terezija's file has no records of marriage, children, or death.

What is the possibility this woman is a match? And what should I do next to confirm that she is indeed my great-great-grandmother?

    Thanks!

  • Can Somone Identify This Italian Document?

Can someone please identify the below records for me? Is it a record of birth, doctor visit, ect? Is "Figlio di" and "E di" the Mother and Father? I am searching for information on my great-grandfather Anton, and a search of an Italian archive lists these four results. Are they all different people? Thanks so much.

  • Will an Financial Aid suspension carry over?

I am currently enrolled in two summer classes at my current college, and have already been accepted to and assigned a Financial Aid award (which I accepted) at the college I plan to transfer to this fall. However, I need to drop one of my summer classes. The problem is that I am on financial aid probation, and dropping the class would technically make FA suspended for the fall term at my current school. If I drop the class, will it also affect my financial aid at my new school??

    Thanks in advance!

  • Short trip into Nuevo Progreso without a passport?

I will be in South Padre with my girlfriend in the coming weeks, and we would like to make a daytrip into Nuevo Progreso. Although I have an up-to-date passport, my girlfriend does not. How much of a hassle will it be if she only has a birth certificate+state ID with her when we try to reenter the country? Thanks!

  • Financial aid unsuspended; what now?

I was put on financial aid suspension Spring 2012 due to dropping a class two semesters in a row. I went ahead and paid for school out of pocket, completed all my classes, submitted an application for repeal of my suspension, and was approved for financial aid for the summer and fall.

My question is; what about the money I was supposed to get in the spring? I assumed that I just wouldn't get it, but the lady at my schools financial aid office told me over the phone that it would "probably" get disbursed to me if I take classes this summer. This sounds incorrect to me, can someone explain/verify?

  • Is using English acceptable in Prague?

I am going to be in Prague for three weeks as of this weekend. Over the past month I have learned some basic Czech phrases, but I am worried about asking a question or making a request in Czech, and then having someone answer me in Czech and of course me not understanding.

I have been told most people speak English in Prague, but I am wondering is it considered rude to simply speak English to someone first? Or should I attempt to speak broken Czech at first?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Questions about arriving in Munich at Franz Strauss Airport?

I have a 24 hour layover in Munich this weekend on my way to Prague. I have never been to Germany before, so I have a few questions:

    1) I assume I have to go through immigration before leaving the airport (I have a US passport of course), how long does it usually take to go through processing?

    2) What is the best way to get from the airport to the city center?

    3) How early should I arrive at the airport the next day leave for Prague?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Wanting to enter Navy as Supply Corps Officer?

I'm 24 year old student a little under two years away from having my B.S.S. in Economics. I have a 3.3gpa and am interesting in joining the Navy as Supply Corps Officer after I get my degree. I know that getting into OCS is very competitive.

What are some things I can do outside of making good grades to increase my chances of getting in? I have three years of experience working for a major logistics company doing work similar to the general purpose of Supply Corps.

Also, do Officers get to request the regions of the world they prefer to be assigned to, or is that only for Enlisted?

    Thanks!

  • Is this how you say "Thank you for reading my article" in Japanese?

Is this the almost the correct way to say it?

"arigato, suru ga zasshi kiji o yonde"

I know I am missing the object that that declares the article (zasshi kiji) is -my- article, but I'm not sure how to do that. Thanks.

  • BA vs BBA in Economics?

I am wrapping up my time at community college and an wondering if I should try for a B.A. or a B.B.A in Econ once I transfer to University. I am curious as to how much better a BBA is on a resume than a BA. I could get my BA much faster, so that would in turn lead to me entering and completing Grad School at a younger age. I have heard that a BBA is better if you're going into an MBA program, but I'm likely to get my either an MBA or a Masters in Econ from the same school i'm graduating from, and I doubt I'd have any trouble getting into the program. Thanks!
