  • Are you graduating this year? If so, what are your plans directly after graduation?

If you are in college what will you receive a diploma in, what degree and area of study?

I am graduating next week Saturday with a B.S. in Chemistry. I plan to find a job doing chemical or biological research, so that I can take a few years off from school while I apply to graduate schools.

  • What are some good ways to look for scientific research jobs?

Please suggests some job sites, or give names of chemical companies in WI (preferably in or near the Milwaukee area). In May of 2009 I will be graduating with a B.S. in chemistry and would like to get a head start on the job search process, seeing as I only have 2 classes left to take before graduation.

  • Has the final epside from cycle 10 of ANTM been shown yet?

I am currently in the UK and unable to watch the show at the normal time. If they have shown the final episode already, do you know of a site that has it already uploaded?

  • Do you have any ideas about how I can get some money to study abroad this spring?

I am supposed to be going to Copenhagen, Denmark next spring and I got a $7,500 scholarship to go but it is not nearly enough to cover the entire cost of the trip. Tution alone is slightly more than $12,000 a semester, not to mention all of the other expenses. I have been stressing over this so much that it has begun to affect my performance in school. I want to go to Denmark more than anything, so much so that I would be willing to pay 10,000 if I had it. Any serious suggestions you may have are well appreciated.

Just a little about myself: I am a 4th year college student and my ultimate goal is to become a physician/scientist. DIS is a organization in Denmark that offers a Medical Practice and Policy program which I believe would help me decide whether or not a career in the Medical Field would be appropriate for me. Furthermore, I grew up in a highly sheltered environment and I need a change of scenery.

  • Are you African American or Black, which do you prefer to be called?

A guy (I'm not going to say any names) recently asked a question on this site in which he referred to himself and his people using what I would call correct terminology but referred to another group of people as a certain color. But I was just interested in hearing your opinion on the matter. If you could not only answer my question but tell me why I would greatly appreciate it, because I plan to forward this question to him.

  • Do you think this is what a coma is like?

Have you ever had a dream in which one of your usual abilities (i.e. walking, talking and opening your eyes) were hindered. I had a dream a while ago and in it I was being chased by a man, in my own house, who wanted to kill me. I knew that I was dreaming but yet the dream felt real and I couldn't open my eyes or say anything. Yesterday my mom had a similar dream and she asked me if I thought that this is what a coma is like. I told her that I didn't know but that it was a good question. Tell me if you think this is what a coma is like and if you have had a dream like this before, if so describe it to me.

  • Is your Birthday in January?

If so, on what day? Also, how old will you be. My siblings and I all have birthdays in January. My brother just celebrated his 18th birthday on the 7th and my sister her sweet sixteen on the 11th. I will be turning 21 on the 25th.

Happy Birthday to all of you who were born in January, and for those of you who have birthdays at the end of the month may this birthday of yours be better than the last.

  • Obsessed with weight to the point that you weigh yourself at least once everyday?

Come on, it's okay to admit it that you have a problem. I know I do. I weigh myself before I eat everyday once before bathing and then again afterwards to see if there is any difference. I will be 21 next week and I currently weigh 124 lb due to the monthly changes, but normally I weigh 118 ib. I am 5'2'' and I want to be between 105 and 110 pounds because I have a big stomach and when I weighed that much in the past my stomach was smaller.

Just want to know if I am the only one. Please give age, height, weight and other pertinent information as you wish.

  • Why did you decide to seek higher education and when did you first know that you were going to go to college?

I knew that I wanted to go to college when I was 15 after one of my closest friends transfered from the high school I attended at the time and after having spent the three years (in middle school) trying to fit in. This is when I began to isolate myself from my peers and work harder in class. Then being the first person in my immediate family to graduate from high school, and one of the first few in my heavy populated extended family to attend college, I decided to not only go to college but to acquire an M.D. in medicine.

    Just curious.

  • Does financial aid change once you pass the fourth year mark in undergraduate school?

I am currently double majoring in biology and chemistry and because I made the decision after spending a whole year in college it seems that the only way I can graduate in four years is if I take more than 18 credits each semester. This is my third year in college and I have only taken three classes required for my biology major but am 4 classes from completing my chemistry major. I don't want to take too many credits because I have been there and done that, and the result was always disappointing. I feel that I gain more from my classes when I am only taking the minimum that is required to be considered full time (12 credits or 3 to 4 courses). I am going to check with my school financial aid office, but I have found out from dealing with these people for almost three years that they can be somewhat misleading. So I need honest answers from you guys, those of you who have been through it or knows someone in a similar situation. All serious and honest answers are greatly appreciated.

  • Biology and/or chemistry majors, pre-med students..... what type of internship did you do and where?

I currently have a double major in biology and chemistry but you can say that I am pre-med. because I plan to go to medical school after undergraduate school. This is my third year of college but I will not do an internship until next year because I don't want to have to pay for the class that corresponds with the internship, furthermore I will not graduate for 2 and a half more years. However, I will be applying to summer programs offered by the Medical College of Wisconsin and other graduate schools.

If you haven't completed an internship yet I want to hear from you as well, tell me what your thoughts are on the subject. If you have a double major tell me if you plan to do more than one internship and why.

Please give specifics such as: company or institution, whether or not you received payment in exchange for your services, country, etc.
