  • Does anyone have information about Lymphoma?

May of 2013 I noticed an enlarged lymph node in my neck. Went to the doctor and received an ultrasound and the lymph node was 2.6 x 1.6 cm. Took antibiotics didn't go down. Received blood work everything was normal. I am a severe hypochondriac and demanded for more answers. I am a 20 year old female and often get sick a lot like most college students. November 2013 I receive another ultrasound. This time they do both sides and find 4 enlarged lymph nodes. The original one is now 3.2 x 1.4 cm, and there is one small one next to it. I also have 2 decent sized ones on the other side. They did a FNA biopsy, which came back normal. I really do not want to get an excisional biopsy but I feel that this is not normal for my lymph nodes to continuously get bigger. I am terrified of going under general anesthesia, but I know that it is the only way to get a definite diagnosis. If any of you have experience with lymphoma I could really use some advice. My bloodwork is normal as well as my LDH levels and also my WBC smear looked normal. I do get sick on a regular basis, about 6 times per year. If I do have lymphoma how long does it usually take to spread? I only have 4 swollen cervical lymph nodes. I am terrified that I will die of lymphoma. Is it very curable and is Non-Hodgkins or Hodgkins more common in younger people? And also, if my blood tests are normal could I be at an advanced stage of lymphoma? I recently got a CT scan of my chest to check for more swollen lymph nodes, hopefully there will be none. If anyone has any experience with lymphoma I would greatly appreciate your advice and answers.

  • Can this be GERD Symptoms?

For the past 2 months my GERD has been horrible. Medicine wasn't working tried a new one, still didn't work. Only TUMS and pepcid works right after I eat. My esophagus is hurting so bad to the point where I'm not eating. Im terrified I have esophageal cancer because it is linked to GERD. I am 20 and I have had acid reflux for 3 years. It has been pretty mild until these past 2 months. Other symptoms I have is difficulty swallowing and regurgitation. My doctor is having my try out this new medicine, Protonix. Ive only been on it for a few days so Im not sure when the effects will start. I will probably go back and get a barium swallow or endoscopy. Is esophageal cancer common, especially young people? Im just terrified because every thing I look up on the internet points to esophageal cancer, especially the difficulty swallowing. I haven't chocked on any foods yet. I just try to eat soft foods that contain little grease and spices. If anyone can please help me stop stressing about it I would be so thankful. I can't even sleep at night because Im scared I'm going to die of esophageal cancer since it has a really low survival rate.

  • Does anyone have medical advice about this?

I have had a 2.5 x 1.6 cm lymph node on my neck for 3 months. They put me on antibiotics and it didn't really seem to go down any. Im going to an ENT in 2 weeks and I am really worried that I have lymphoma. I am a 20 year old female who was sick a few months ago with strep and tonsillitis. After that, thats when this swollen lymph node showed up. I have been also having chest pains and abdominal pains. I have GERD, so my doctor said it could be that. My abdominal pain has seemed to go away since I started taking my GERD medication. My lymph node is very movable and somewhat firm. It is also oval shaped, and my blood tests appear normal. Is Hodgkins lymphoma or non-Hodgkins lymphoma more common in young adults? Im really scared if I do have lymphoma I am going to die. I know the non-Hodgkins lymphoma survival rates aren't very high. If anyone has any general information that could help me out or comfort me I'd greatly appreciate it.

  • Is this possibly lymphoma?

3 months ago I noticed an enlarged lymph node. It has not increased or decreased in size since I've had it. Im a healthy 19 year old female that was sick a few weeks before I noticed the lymph node. The doctor says he is not too worried and put me on an antibiotic. I just finished and it is still there. Its a 2.5 x 1.6 cm lymph node that is oval-shaped and well circumscribed. It is firm, but not rock hard. I got an ultrasound on it a few weeks ago. Should I be worried? My doctor said lymph nodes can be enlarged for months, but I am just really scared because it won't go down and its been there for awhile. Im going back in 2 weeks and I most likely will be getting a biopsy. If anyone knows more information on metastasized lymph node characteristics I'd greatly appreciate some answers and suggestions.

  • Sore throat with ulcer and white bumps?

I have a chronic sore throat. It usually hurts all the time. A few weeks ago I got a strep test done that was negative but I have throat ulcers. There also appears to be white little spots on them. I don't have tonsils so I am not sure what this is. Ive had a chronic sore throat on and off for months now. My doctor says that my lymph nodes aren't infected and he said I have oral thrush on my tongue. Ive been using a mouthwash but it hasn't really helped at all. I also haven't been exposed to HIV, except that I was cut really bad at a nail salon so I am very worried I could've gotten a transmission from there?

  • Is constipation a sign of HIV?

About a month ago I might have been exposed to HIV in a nail salon when I was cut with a tool that had previously been used before me. Now I have constant constipation and I have been losing weight. I also have been working out a lot more recently, and Im not sure if exercise can cause constipation. I also stopped eating fast food all the time and my stomach has been really messed up since. If anyone can give me good advice Im just extremely worried. Im going to get tested in April at my next doctors appointment. I just can't keep worrying until then.

  • Possible HIV transmission?

I went to the nail salon yesterday and got my nails done. The lady had just previously worked on a mans nails and used the same nail file on me as she did him. When she was filing my finger she cut it really bad. Should I be worried about an HIV transmission? This is really worrying me and I have washed it out, put peroxide, and neosporin on the cut. Please help, I can't stop thinking about it.

  • Whats the chance of getting brain eating amoeba from tap water?

I got a bunch of water up my nose in the shower. Now I have a headache and a slightly stiff neck. We live off of city water, so I don't know if its possible for them to be in there. I know there is recorded cases of them being in tap water, not sure if it was well water though.

  • Should I get back with my ex?

We broke up a week ago and were together for two years. I lost my virginity to him, but I feel as though he's just really mean to me. We get along really well but when I make him mad he calls me names and I don't know if that is considered verbal abuse or not. He'll call me stupid and say he's alright right. I don't know if he is just picking at me or being mean. We broke up because I have been really sick with Lyme's disease and hadn't seem him in almost a month. He broke up with me because he said I don't care about our relationship and don't give him any attention. Any advice?

  • The doctors seriously cannot figure out what is wrong with me?

I was diagnosed with strep in June then diagnosed with Lyme's Disease in July and then the doctors found out that the strep never went away. They treated me with both and I got retested last week and both results were negative, but I tested positive for a mycoplasma infection. My throat is still hurting and my lymph nodes are still really swollen. I have been getting yeast infections too, but I don't know if thats because I was on antibiotics for about a month. I seriously don't know what to do anymore, I still feel sick and Ive been feeling sick for four months now. Ive seen four doctors and they basically tell me to just deal with it. I seriously need some advice.
