  • 24 weeks pregnant with swollen feet and ankles?

I thought this was more normal later in pregnancy, but the last 2 days now, I've noticed my feet and ankles swelling up. I feel fine other wise. Should I call my doctor about it, or just wait until my appointment later this week?

  • what can I do to show appreciation to my (almost) mother in law?

The wedding is in just under 3 weeks, and she and her husband have been so amazingly helpful. They've never been pushy about anything, but have helped my fiance and I with the wedding (financially) a lot more than we had planned on. Yesterday I was getting my hair cut by my almost-mother-in-law's hair dresser, and when she was done, she said "Oh, by the way, Carmen called and she already took care of it for you." And this is all before the shower she and my fiance's sister threw me last night at a restaurant with about 20 of their family members. What do I do? She's been so awesome I want to do something to show my appreciation, but I don't know what.

  • Having problems with a post wedding shower get together?

After my shower, which is tomorrow, my roommates (who are 2 of my bridesmaids) and I were going to have a bunch of friends, guys and gals, over for a game night. We do it often and always have a good time. This time, another 'friend' (we're not on the best of terms these days) wanted to cook dinner for what I was told is a 'few people'. The game night, which has always been an open invite to all, turned into her sending 'invitations' via myspace and facebook to a few. I didn't get one (it's right after my shower and at my apartment). She assumed I would assume I was invited, even though my 2 roommates were actually invited. It went from a misunderstanding to a huge ordeal, canceling game nigh altogether, moving it to a new location and now it's just a 'girls night'. What should I do? If I go, I don't think I'll have much fun since it's all a hassle now.

  • How early before the ceremony should I make an appointment to get my hair done?

The wedding is at 2pm and we have access to the church to get ready at noon. What time would be best to set my hair appointment?

  • Table cloths: How much should it cost to rent one for a round table?

I need 10-12 or so white round table cloths for my reception. I don't need to rent any other table linens- if they're inexpensive enough should I rent them? Or should I just go and buy some plastic ones? We're not having a super fancy reception or anything- for plates and utensils we're getting the nice clear plastic ones even. Ideas???

  • Is it okay not to give bridesmaid gifts when I'm on a very limited budget?

My fiance and I have paying for most of the wedding ourselves and we really don't have any extra money to spare, especially on my part. I was in a friend's wedding this summer and she couldn't give the bridesmaids gifts and I can't really afford it either. I wasn't hurt, upset or insulted when I didn't receive a gift. Would it be okay for me to not give my gal pals gifts? Or give something to them at a later date?

The wedding is February 7th 2009. I want decent photographs to put in an album but I don't need anything ultra-professional.

  • What do you think about Natural Family Planning (NFP)?

My fiance is Catholic and I'm not---I'm Christian though and have some varying ideas and opinions from what I've heard from the Catholic Church. We recently went to a marriage preparation retreat through the Catholic Church since we're getting married at his, and I agreed with most of what they said. Right now, Natural Family Planning is what we're primarily considering in regards to birth control. I've been trying to read up on it, but I'd also like other people's opinions on it as well, that is, if you have personal experience in that area. Any help would be great!!

  • Invitation wording if guests are in the military

I'm inviting a couple I've known for more than 5 years...both husband and wife are in the Navy(or reserves) and both are Chief Petty Officers (E7). Do I address the invitation "Mr. & Mrs. John Doe", "Mr. John Doe and Mrs. John Doe", or use their rank like "Chief John Doe and Chief Jane Doe"....

  • On an invitation, how do you exclude people?

What I mean is, due to space constraints (the chapel and reception venue only fit about 100 people each) how do you ask a guest you're inviting to not bring extra people such as a date?

We're already leaving people we know off the guest list and don't think it would be right to have people we don't know there in their places.

  • Does Alfred Angelo have some sort of 'lay-away' plan? I can't pay for my dress right yet...?

I found THE dress (y'all know when it's THE dress...), and this is IT. I can't pay in full yet but I can put some down on it here and there and my parents might be able to help in the next couple months...My wedding is in 7 months!!

  • How do I feed 65-80 people at a reception?

I don't want a sit-down catered affair but I don't know if I want to do just the cake and coffee thing anymore either. I'm having people fly in from out of state for the wedding and I want to give them a reception worth flying for. My fiance and I don't want to spend a lot of money either. If we have the reception at his church, we won't be serving alcohol either, so that will help. I just need ideas. Should I try and find a cheap buffet? Just snacks, appetizers and desserts? Just desserts? Thanks in advance for input and ideas.

  • I don't know what to do about who should walk me down the aisle, if anyone...?

My mom and dad have been divorced since I was 4 (I'm 26 now). My mom remarried 10 years ago and my stepdad and i have a great relationship now whereas I've only recently been in contact with my dad after he had been mostly absent most of my life. He says it was becuase my mom didn't want him around, but he never made an effort when it mattered or when he had opportunity. He has the nerve to ask if he can walk me down the aisle when my fiance and I get married, but I have a closer and better relationship with my stepfather. How do I break it to my dad that I don't want him to walk me down the aisle? Should I ask my stepdad to do the honors of walking me? Or should I walk down the aisle alone??

  • Would it be completely rude to not have a reception for most of the guests?

I am trying to keep my costs very low and don't know if we should have a reception or not. Or, if we do, to only invite the wedding party and our absolutely closest friends and family. The guest list is under 100 guests as it is for the wedding itself.
