My dog wont eat unless I'm standing right there...why? is this normal? can this be "trained out"?
My wife and I have two dogs: Tillie (female - mixed??) and Bing (male - beagle bassett hound)
Tillie is about 1.5 years old, we rescued from a shelter when she was about 8 weeks old, and gets regular exercise (3 walks a day: 30min, 45min, 15min). She eats in her crate, and spends the working hours in there.
She may eat a few bites of her breakfast but not her dinner, and this has been getting worse over the past couple of months, she's at a healthy weight, and gets regular vet appointments.
We've tried increasing her exercise, adding things to the food, staggering the feeding schedule. She eats when I'm standing there, so it's not the food, but, she frequently stops to look at me; almost for approval. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
