  • Trying to figure the title of a book I read as a kid... Had to do with a Ranger, Fantasy.?

    I remember it was Medievalish Fantasy. It was about a boy who ran off into the woods to become a Ranger. I remember he had to hide from some Wraiths who were prowling about in the night.

    This Ranger had a sword and when the boy met up with him they stayed at an Inn, I believe, and had troubles in the night I think.

    I remember reading the book in the 80's, if that's any help. This rules out Ranger's Apprentice, which I recently finished reading the series... Excellent! But not the book I'm looking for.

    E-cookie for whomever helps me figure this out! I wish to read it again :)
