Riding during earthquake aftershocks- how do horses unused to it respond?
I am in the county that had the 5.8 magnitude earthquake in the east yesterday. We not get regular earthquakes or tremors. In fact it has been years since we had one strong enough to feel. I would like to ride before the hurricane gets here, but I am unsure how my horses will respond. Most of the aftershocks have sounded like thunderstorms and have not been bad, but we have had several quite significant ones. I have been told that if you are actively working your horse it is not as bad than if you are standing still or just walking. What has been your experience? My horses have had a break due to weather, and I am sure they will be fresh anyway. I really don't need to come off and get hurt.
4 AnswersHorses10 years agoAnyone use Sprenger jointed stirrups?
I have heard they are good for riders with knee and ankle pain. I have also heard that they don't feel nearly as stable/secure as a regular stirrup. I am borrowing some to try, but I haven't been riding much this winter, and my horse and I are too out of shape to give them a real workout. If you use them (or tried and discarded them), please let me know what you think. Also are the off brand like this: http://www.doversaddlery.com/horse-s-jointed-stirr... as good?
6 AnswersHorses1 decade agoI made the mistake of "grouping" messages in hotmail. How do I change it back?
I was e-mailing back and forth with 3 other people trying to set something up. At one point hotmail gave me the option of "grouping" those messages. Now my inbox will just have the latest reply and parentheses with the number of messages in it. I hate it. How do I change it back?
1 AnswerMSN1 decade agoHow do you receive multiple phones to one phone number?
I have a small business that is beginning to grow in telephone and internet sales. I see a time coming when more than one person will be needing to answer the phone simultaneously, rather than have the call go to voice mail. How is this accomplished?
