Need tips for preparing frozen veggies for a 9 month old baby?
My son loved veggie baby food, and now we're moving up to table food. He HATES when I prepare him frozen veggies (he will eat canned veggies but I don't want to feed that to him). Are there tricks to preparing frozen veggies to make them taste better (or improve the texture)? I've tried boiling and microwaving, struck out on both. HELP!
5 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoLooking for cradle sheet to fit a thin cradle/changing table pad?
We purchased a mission style cradle from JC Penny. The cradle pad is about 18"W x 34"L x 1"H (a very odd-ball size). The pad is nearly identical to a standard changing table pad. Does anyone know where I can find a sheet or cover to fit this cradle and/or a thin changing table pad?
1 AnswerNewborn & Baby1 decade agoHas anyone used this recipe for freezing cucumbers?
I was always under the impression that you can't freeze cucumbers. However, I found some instructions for freezing cucumbers (see link below) and would like to give it a try. Has anyone ever used this "recipe", and if so, how did the cucumbers taste (are they really salty, do they have a pickle-like flavor, etc.)? What did you use the cucumbers for after defrosting them? Also, how long will they keep in the freezer?
2 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoLooking for a peach desert recipe that does NOT use cinnamon
I have a ton of peaches and would like to make a tasty peach desert. However, my husband is allergic to cinnamon. Most recipes I see have cinnamon. Is there a spice that can be used as a good replacement?
8 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoHow much does it typically cost to have someone play the violin at a wedding ceremony?
We would like to have live music at the church and have started looking around for musicians (the church is at a historical site and doesn't staff anyone to play music). I just want to get a general idea of what to expect for cost, and most people don't post this on their business website. I really want one violin and one harp, but that depends on cost! p.s...the wedding is in the Chicagoland area, not sure if that matters. Thanks!
6 AnswersWeddings1 decade agoWhen I let my hair air dry it becomes somewhat frizzy. What can I use after a shower to reduce the friz?
I have very long hair (down to my butt) and I've never used hair products on a regular basis. For a while now I've just been pulling it back when it's wet because the friz is bothersome. I would describe my hair as soft, pretty straight (maybe a slight wave), a bit thin, and not oily. When I use a hair dryer my hair is much more managable, but it take about 30 minutes to blow dry!! Any suggestions on specific products that might reduce the friz and leave the hair looking untreated? I just want to leave my hair down to dry for once. Thanks :)
12 AnswersHair1 decade agoAt a wedding reception, does the DJ typically play music during cocktail hour and dinner?
We have a 5 and 1/2 hour reception package (1 hour of "cocktail hour", 1 and 1/2 hour dinner, and the rest for dancing/party). When should I have the DJ arrive and begin playing. How late do they play? Is it the DJ that announces the couple when they arrive? I'm new at all of this!! :)
13 AnswersWeddings1 decade agoHave you had a wedding/reception at the Renaissance Center in Joliet, Illinois?
I am considering having my wedding and reception at this location and am looking for any feedback. What was your experience like? Would you recommend this place? What did you like and dislike? Etc. Thanks!
1 AnswerWeddings1 decade agoNeed recommendations for a reception hall -- Chicago suburbs (DuPage or Will County)?
I live in Nebraska but will have my wedding near my hometown. It's hard to plan from so far away, and I'm looking for any suggestions of potential reception hall locations. We're hoping to have the wedding in the DuPage or WIll County area.
We'll probably have about 125 guests, we prefer a buffet style dinner, and we're not looking for a super fancy/expensive place. Please help! Any suggestions would be great!!!
5 AnswersWeddings1 decade agoTexas Motor Speedway - Weather safety question?
The Storm Prediction Center (http://www.spc.noaa.gov/) is predicting severe weather for the region encompassing the Texas Motor Speedway tomorrow. Given the 50,000+ fans that will be attending and camping out at the track, does anyone know what the speedway would do in the event of a severe weather emergency? What have they done in the past? If there is a weather emergency plan available I would be interested in seeing it. Thank you!

8 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoElectronic pest control? Safe for rabbits??
I would like to get an electronic pest control device, but certain devices have warnings that the frequency pitch they use is harmful to pets such as gerbils, hamsters, and snakes.
I want to know if anyone who has a rabbit has purchased one of these devices. If so, what brand/style would you suggest. If not, does anyone know which brand/style would be safe for rabbits?
3 AnswersOther - Pets1 decade agoSick rabbit, lumps on face and neck, anyone else ever have this problem? Did they go away?
Since November my 5 year old female rabbit has had lumps near her mouth and now on the bottom side of her neck. The lumps are pink, hard, and filled with puss. I HAVE been to the vet several times, and she has been taking antibiotics. The vet is not sure so she just keeps draining them and giving her more medicine.
I just want to know if anyone else has had a similar problem and what it was.
