Know of a bank that will open account for estate?
I am co-admin of father's estate. My sister is the other admin, and she lives out of state. Finally have all paperwork together (letters of co-admin, irs docs, death cert, etc) and now can't find bank to open account requiring 2 signatures. Bank of America and Commerce say "they don't have a product that would enforce 2 signatures being required for everything". The fact that she is out of state has no bearing on this.
Is this not just a business account??? I have seen business checks that require 2 signatures.
Both companies have suggested going back to the attorney to change the order to allow us to act alone, but doesn't that negate the whole "co" administration part of it. When I spoke to the attorney, her answer was "well, that's how you guys wanted it". True, not knowing it was impossible.
Does anyone know of a financial institution that can get this done? I would hate to change the structure and I would hate to pay HER another $175 an hour.
4 AnswersPersonal Finance1 decade agoRehab Loan??
Okay, I found what appears to be a wonderful opportunity today. A house for only 35k in a neighborhood with 115k homes all around it. Definately a diamond in the rough. Went in the house with a realtor and looks to me like it can be rehabbed for less than 20k. Called up my banker and because the home is without a kitchen - it is totally gutted - she can't help. She is checking to see who can fund me, but I really want this and can't stop thinking about it!!!!
Anyone know who could lend in this situation. The house is in poor condition and the asking price is only 35k, which most lenders have a 50k min...
FICO was in the low 700's past summer...haven't checked since. This is in Kansas, by the way, and the average sales price here is only 135k (if memory serves), so it may seem like chump change to someone where homes go for hundreds of thousands, but the housing market is NOT like that here.

4 AnswersOther - Destinations1 decade agoWho's car is it after it is recovered from theft?
My friend's car was stolen in Texas 14 months ago insurance was filed and paid off the value which left her to pay th balance. She was upside down. The car was recovered maybe 7 months ago and the police had it towed to her house. She contacted the insurance company and they have yet to come and get their car. Everyone tells her to replace the interior and have it repaired as it looks as though it would only take a few thousand dollars to restore it to its previous condition. Obviously that would be pointless since she no longer possesses legal title to the car.
She knows it is not her car, but is there anything she can file to "inherit" the car since the insurance co has abonded it?
3 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoMen, is it rude for a woman to assume that you are paying for dinner?
I had a discussion with someone that I thought if a man asked a woman out, he should pay, or if he wanted to go "Dutch" he should let her know in advance. What are your thoughts? Do you feel taken advantage of?

10 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoHow do you get over a crush?
I have an ex-boyfriend that I just love to death. I can hardly call him an ex-boyfriend, it was over 10 years ago that we dated and we never had sex. Anyway, we have lost touch a few times over the years, but are friends again. Each time we reunite it is like he goes out of his way to contact me, but asside from a little playful flirting, I don't get the vibe that he wants anything more than friendship.
He is such an awesome person, and I would love to be with him, but I don't see that happening. Sometimes I think I need to sleep with him to forget him? Is that weird?
3 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade ago4 minute Gym? Are we that lazy!?!?!?
I just saw a commercial for a 4 minute fitness center! An actual gym that someone would physically drive to for a 4 minute workout. Have people become that lazy that they would spend more time in the locker room than they would working out!?!?!
Anyway that is all I have to say about that. This typing is exhausting.
