I have office 2007 and Visio 2007 that i MUST keep using and i want to convert my computer to ubuntu. Is there a way that i can install offive 2007 in ubuntu so that i can use it. I have office pro and visio. It is a requirement of my job that i have to use visio and i need office because open office still has some issues when it is opening up word documents, not everything is displayed the same as it is when it was created in word. Is there a website tha t has instructions on it or can you please tell me how to use office in linux. Wine does not work, i have it and have tried wine and office will not install in wine.

I am doing an IT course and we are using Linux. What is a good distrobution that has NO grapgical user interface, i only want to use it through a command line, or what is a web server that i can use Putty to connect to so that i can do my homework on?

I just got a D-Link USB wireless network adapter for my computer so i could connect to our wireless network, It recognizes the network and connects to it, but the computer will not access the net, even when there are no computers on and using the network at the same time as it. I am using Windows XP and Ubuntu Linux on the computer and i can not access the internet on either of them. I have an apple airport express base station, i know that it is compatible with windows as my windows XP laptop connects to it, and my desktop will connect to the network it just won't connect to the internet, How can i fix the problem,

My computer duel boots into Ubuntu linux and windows XP. Lunux is the first option on the list, and there are people that use my computer that don't understand the message, or miss the prompt and can not get into windows, how can I reverse the list so that windows is at the top so that if a person does not understand the message, or can not use the screen the computer will go into windows anyway, because I am the only person that uses Linux

I am new to Linux and just started using Ubuntu. I just got a USB D-Link wireless network adapter so that i can connect to my wireless network with it. Ubuntu is recognizing the hardware, but i can not use the internet on it for some reason. I am pretty shure my network settings are fine, what can i do to use the net form it so that i can download more programs for it in the packet manager.

I have a desktop that is running Ubuntu. I love it but it does not have an internet connection. How do I download programs for it on my windows laptop that has the internet connection and install them on the Ubuntu system. My 4gb USB drive supports Ubuntu so putting the programs on there is no problem it is just finding them and installing them. particularly an mp3 player. I only have a wireless connection for the internet and the desktop does not have a wireless card, so there is no way that it can connect to the internet unless somebody could help me by telling me how to connect to the internet on the desktop through the laptop.

I just purchased a Toshiba U3 4gb flash drive. Is there any way that i can disable the U3 software from coming up every time that I plug it into my computer.
