How do you tell the difference between the baby's movement and a braxton hicks contraction?

I am 37 weeks. For the past few months, I have had hardening of the uterus, but my doctor said it was most likely the baby moving. It did not feel like contractions, and when I rubbed it, it would eventually go away.

I am still feeling the same type of hardening, but it is more often and sometimes more intense then before. is this still just the baby moving or a braxton hick, or even the real thing? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

I am currently 33 weeks pregnant. The past few times my doctor measured my stomach, I was average size, meaning the baby would be about 6 to 7 pounds when born if she continued growing at the same rate. Last week when i went, he said she is a bit bigger and if she continues will now be about 8 pounds. I am happy she is big and healthy, but am worried my small frame may not be able to handle such a big baby. I am 5'2 and weighed 98 pounds before I got pregnant. I now weigh about 121 pounds.

Did anyone else experience this same thing and what happend? Thanks!

Is it normal to have swelling near your groin area when you are 6 1/2 months pregnant? The swelling is only on my right side of the goin area. It is sore to the touch, but does not hurt to walk or sit. Is this normal? Thanks

Has anyone had an ultrasound really early in their pregnancy, like 6 weeks or so and only one baby showed up, but then later in the second trimester you found out you were having more than one? Thanks

Who had a AFP screening that came back positive and after further testing there was no problems with the baby?

I had an AFP blood test last week and it came back slightly abnormal as it relates to downs syndrome. I'm waiting to hear back from the doctor to set up an appointment with a specialist for an unltrasound, but just wanted to to know other women's experiances. I have heard that 9 out of 10 times you get back abnormal blood test results everything is fine. Thanks

I am 3 months pregnant and starting to show some. I was wondering if you are supposed to use any types of oils or creams before you start to see strech marks to prevent them, or if you should wait until you start to really show before you use the oils and creams. Also, what type of oils or creams would you recommend as the best at preventing and then getting rid of strech marks? Thanks

Has anyone else experianced a really bad taste in their mouth while pregnant? I am currently 12 weeks pregnant and seem to always have a bad taste in my mouth. It is not metal tasting or fishy tasting, but just a really bad taste I cannot explain. Whenever I eat something, regardless of what it is, the taste goes away for a few mintues, but then it usually comes back shortly after. Will this ever go away? Thanks

Hi all. I was wondering if anyone else has experianced this. I am currently 8 weeks and 3 days pregnant. I stay very hydrated and have good dental hygine. For some reason I keep getting a really bad taste in my mouth. It is somewhat metal tasting and somewhat dehydrated tasting. Is this a normal pregnancy symptom? Thanks

Has anyone else had morning sickness all day long? It seems to come and go for me all day long. As long as I am eating somthing I generally feel ok, but about 20 minutes after I am done eating, I feel sick again. Is this normal? I am a little underweight, but I cannot beleive I need to eat all day long in order to feel good. I am only 7 weeks pregnant. Has anyone else experianced this?

I had my first ultrasound yesterday. I am 6 weeks and 2 days pregnant. It was amazing. I saw the sac and fetal pole. There was even a heartbeat! I was actually surprised they only saw one. I was on clomid for 3 cycles and my hcg levels have been really high. At 17 dpo my hcg was 517 and at 25 dpo (5 and 1/2 weeks pregnant) my hcg was 15,000!

Has anyone ever had an ultrasound that orginally found one baby, but later there turned out to be two? Thanks
