Why do people blame Clinton for 9/11? Please read before answering?
For several decades, NORAD had standing orders to automatically scramble fighters immediately upon a report of any highjacking. In July of '01, "president" Bush changed that order. Under the new standing order, no scrambling was allowed without the express order from the Secretary of Defence (Donald Rumsfeld). This order stood for about 3 months...from 2 months before until a few weeks after 9/11. If this order had not been put into effect, fighters would have been scrambled and the planes would have either been escorted to the closest secure airport or shot down.
Regardless of who planned and executed the 9/11 attacks, and regardless of any intelligence available or not available, "President" Bush's order allowed 9/11 to happen.
That change of orders seems rather idiotic, doesn't it? An order for NORAD NOT to scramble in an emergency? Or perhaps it was part of the plan...after all, Bush has been shown to have a genius IQ (at least according to some).
11 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoHow does Tom Foley (former Congressman from Florida) mark his place in his books?
He just bends the pages over!!!!
How many Republican congresspeople have gotten busted for unethical actions now? It's so hard to keep track!

21 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoAnyone else think that it's time to stop letting one industry's greed get us into wars?
Nicolai Tesla invented a method of pulling free, wireless electricity from the ionosphere. You cell phone, car, house, whatever, could be powered wirelessly at virtually no overall cost. Edison International holds the patent, and refuses to let anyone use it...it would put them and the oil business out of business! Don't you think having unlimited, free, wireless energy would be preferable to waging wars over oil and paying extortionist prices, all while polluting the water that you drink, the air that you breathe, etc?
Nikolai Tesla had invented it in order to provide free electricity to the world, reduce poverty in third-world nations, etc. But Edison owned 51% of the stock in the patent, since he paid for the research.
Does this make sense?
7 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoShould a President rule the people, lead the people, or serve the people?
And why?
Only one of the three. I think people will tend to want to say lead and serve, but they are mutually exclusive. A leader directs the path of the country, while a servant enforces the will of the people.
Honest opinions, please, and no name-calling or slander.
16 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoDo you think it should be legal for a criminal to decide to not go to court and remain free?
Bush unilaterally pulled out of the International Courts, proclaiming them to have no jurisdiction in the US, right when they had started investigating him for 31 charges of war crimes.
You can read the tribunal decision in it's entirety at:
http://www.mindfully.org/reform/2004/afg...
Just for the record, the Constitution explicitly states that all international law and any treaties that are signed by the President and approved by a 2/3 majority of the House and the Senate is to be considered the highest law of the land, equal in power to the Constitution. The US were intrumental in founding the International Courts, and have brought charges against many countries in International Court.
The International Court is there to protect everyone from rogue nations that act in ways that anyone with a conscience would day is wrong. That is why Bush was found GUILTY on 33 charges of War Crimes and Crimes against humanity.
7 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoDid anyone know this?
The radioactivity of exploded Depleted Uranium munitions used in Iraq during this second Iraq war is the equivalent of 250,000 Nagasaki Atomic Bombs. This is from a paper presented at the ‘World Uranium Conference Weapons Conference’ in October 2003 which stated that "calculated that 800 tons of DU is the atomicity equivalent to 83,000 Nagasaki bombs. The amount of DU used in Iraq is equivalent to 250,000 Nagasaki bombs. Professor Yagasaki affirmed that DU shells are atrocious radioactive weapons which should not be used ; and that DU has a long life of 4.5 billion years remaining in the soil , air ,water in all affected zones."
Still support Bush using nuclear warfare against innocent civilians in a country that never attacked us and never could have or would have attacked us?
15 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoWhy do people think that liberals are against our troops? Who's suporting our troops?
I've got two words...Depleted Uranium. We used over 2400 tons of it in Iraq this time. Look it up. It's nasty, and it is a WMD. Massive residual radiation lasting forever! The half-life on the stuff is 4.5 Billion years! Half life means that there will be half as much of the stuff in 4.5 billion years!!!! Meanwhile, anyone living anywhere in the middle east or to the western borders of India, down to Egypt....will die off over the course of the next few generations, and as these people get exposed to the airborne radioactive particles, they now have a cancer rate 160 TIMES normal. Birth defects are skyrocketing...and I'm not talking cleft palate...these children are being born without mouths to eat or scream, enlarged heads, no heads, no brains, cyclops eye...really weird stuff. Uranium does not leave your body or your DNA ever! As they get re-exposed to greater and greater amounts, the entire poputlation of the area will die off.
10 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoWhy do people not get that Bush is a war criminal?
At the end of 2002, the International Court was holding tribunals over the war in Afghanistan. The meetings were held in Japan. Bush was being charged with 31 counts of war crimes, breaches of the Geneva Convention, and other international laws. The meetings lasted over a year. During the deliberation, the judges reccomended an addition two charges, and upon judgement, Bush was ruled to be guilty on all counts for war crimes, crimes against the environment, and crimes against humanity. You wonder why people don't like us much right now? Especially when even after Bush was found guilty, he was reelected (fraudulently)?

Doesn't it amaze you how some of these people can be so inhuman...so nanchalant about something like this? And they call themselves "compassionate conservatives"! What compassion?

16 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoDo you believe that all Americans should have access to health care?
Should everyone have the opportunity to be healthy or only the rich? When 1 in 5 Americans are uninsured or underinsured, it makes wonder why, in this, the richest of countries, we allow this to be so.
14 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoDo you believe in the concept of "Innocent until proven guilty"?
If so, how does torture fit into this? Inflicting pain and degradation on someone is treating them as guilty, and the fact that they are being tortured means that they have not been proven guilty.
11 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoCan we open-mindedly discuss the issues instead of just labeling people and ideas and missing the point?
I want to apologize...I have gotten caught up in the labeling and partesianship that is the biggest problem facing America and the world today. I realize that placing labels upon people and ideas makes understanding of the people, actions, ideas, and concepts impossible.
Why don't we all turn over a new leaf and start looking at ideas for their merit and workability instead of immediately placing a label on them and agreeing or disagreeing based solely on the label?
Perhaps if we can set all of this aside, we can work together towards "a more perfect Union" like the Constitution talks about.
17 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoWhy are we not being shown the videos showing what hit the Pentagon?
This entire argument could be put to rest instantly if they would just stop hiding everything and show us the video! There were 5 video cameras pointing at the impact side of the Pentagon. All 5 videos were confiscated, and only 5 frames of one of them were released, and those do not show what it was that hit the Pentagon. The 3 missing frames would show exactly what is was.
I think that this is the most important way to find out whether it was an inside job or not. If it really was a passenger airplane, we would all know that it was terrorists (and that a miracle happened to make the entire plane fit into a 16 foot hole and disappear for the first time in aviation history...but this is beside the point).
Let's see the videos!

4 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoWhy do so many conservatives claim to be Christian?
If you are a Christian, you must realize that by supporting war, you are guaranteeing yourself a place in hell. Jesus made it clear that fighting...even against those that persecute or attack you...is wrong. The one thing that Jesus said more than anything else is "do not be afraid". The second most thing that He said was "love your neighbor unconditionally". And no, that doesn't mean just the person who lives in the house next to yours...it means everyone! Killing someone is not loving them.
When the Zealots approached Jesus expecting to lead them in a war against Rome, Jesus reproached them. The closest thing to violence that Jesus ever did, was knocking over the tables of people that were trying to make people pay to worship.
Jesus repeatedly said "turn the other cheek", and "do not judge others". If you are truly a Christian, listen to what Jesus says. If you are truly a Christian, you must not support anyone that promotes fear, hatred, or war. You must not support those that try to take away from the poor (when asked what must be done to attain salvation, Jesus said "you must first sell everything that you own and give it all to the poor"). If you do, you will be judged and found lacking.
The tenets of Christianity are simple. Love God (which includes respecting that which He created), Love your neighbor (meaning every person), and do not fear. Simple. Yet many conservative Christians refuse to follow any of the three tenets. Conservatives work to destroy the environment to increase short-term profits. Conservatives believe that killing people is good, as long as your country is rich and has big technology, and is the United States or Israel. Conservatives try to take opportunity and the basic ability of the poor to live away. Conservatives spread fear and terror wherever they go. CONSERVATIVES ARE NOT CHRISTIANS. Christians do none of these things, because these things are expressly forbidden.
21 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoWhy do conservatives support slavery in our country's territories?
Saipan is a US territory where the factories bring workers from other countries, lock them in their rooms when not at work, force them to work 12-14 hour days 6-7 days per week, pay them less than the cost of food for the day, force the pretty ones to perform prostitution, and force any woman that gets pregnant to have an abortion. Tom DeLay (then Minority Whip in Congress for the Republican Party) went on a trip there and after touring the factories, was recorded telling the owners of the factories that they exemplify everything that the Republican Party stands for, then proceeded to block legislation that would require US territories to use the same labor laws as the US.
6 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoWhy are Conservatives unable to understand this simple concept about terrorism?
Ok, imagine this...
If someone came into your house; raped and killed your entire family, including your small children; took away all of your money; destroyed your house; imprisoned and tortured you; killed most, if not all of your neighbors; took away all access to electricity, drinking water, telephone (and internet); planted radioactive substances throughout your neighborhood; destroyed your workplace and any possible job or way to make money; stole everything you own, and all of the resources in your area (including your neighborhood's primary source of income); and left you and your neighbors with nothing except simple bomb-making materials...what would you do? Greet the person with flowers and candy? Or would you want to kill them, even if it cost you your life?
This is what creates terrorism. Take everything away from someone, and they will have nothing but hatred for you, and a desire to do whatever they can to pay you back for your injustice.
Simple! Duh! Questions?
