I've had anxiety for awhile now but didn't do anything about it until my girlfriend (of 1.5 years) and i broke up and i was devastated. I was prescribed lexapro (anti depression/ anti anxiety) and it helped a lot. But now i'm over my ex and happy. I want to get off the medicine and be prescriped xanax so i can take one if i'm feeling anxious and not take lexapro everyday. I've taken my friends xanax before and it helped a lot. I'm 20 and I'm afraid my doctor won't prescribe me xanax because they are abused a lot among people my age. How do i approach the doctor with this situation? any other helpful info is good too.
