  • I'm trying to attach a powered Bose speaker with RCA plug inputs to an amplifier with stripped-wire outputs.

Both speakers' wire inputs are routed through the one powered speaker. The powered speaker accepts one matched pair of red and white RCA jack inputs which supply signal to BOTH speakers. (The second speaker accepts amplified signals from the first powered one.)

When I cut the plugs off one end of an RCA jack connector wire, each RCA jack wire has an outside and an inside (separately insulated) multistrand wire. So I have four stripped wires available, one inside and one outside on each of the red and white jacks. Which wire attaches to which spring jack on the back of my standard Onkyo receiver/amplifier?
