  • To CC people out there?

There was recently news of a person who was beaten to death by police in a very obvious show of excessive force (punching, kicking, suffocating, and clubbing a man to death) to the point where his injuries killed him in the hospital. Considering the confines of the law and how often gun owners are painted in a negative light, and the fact many police agencies are not going to side with you as opposed to their officers, would you intervene in that situation? The police officers obviously acting as murderers, would you attempt to stop them when the punishment yourself could be being shot by mentally incapable law officials who are obviously not concerned with their duties, also, the factor that if you were to stop them, how would you go about getting other law officials involved?

Not asking for any "fact" but opinions. I'm in California where CC is as likely as lottery winnings, so I'll never have to make that sort of judgement call.

  • Alternative Jack Dempsey diet?

My two juvenile Blue Jack Dempsey cichlids refuse to eat any prepared food. This means no pellets, flakes, or the like. They even seem disinterested in beef heart paste. Freeze dried foods seem as enticing to them as Playboy TV to George Takei. They also will not take raw/whole veggie bits. What they DO seem to like are certain frozen foods; specificially frozen bloodworms. As soon as I add frozen bloodworms to the tank, they become as ravenous as piranha, darting and eating as if I never give them food. Right now the "staple" they get is spirulina enriched/gutloaded brine shrimp as it seems to be the best balance of nutrition I can get in their gullet. They also seem to try and get to the algae wafer I drop each night for their two pleco tank-mates before they can get it. So if anyone has suggestions for other food to try. I've tried Omega One pellets and flake, hikari cichlid pellets, wedley shrimp pellets, and NLS sinking pellets (they eat one or two but never more).

I've tried starving them for several days to no avail. One issue is definitely that they rarely feel the desire to approach the surface, I know this can be due to paranoia of a predator attacking.

Hell, their only interests seem to be riding the current caused by one of the air stones to the top and bloodworms.

  • What would a good resource be to find about rimfire competitions in Southern California?

I've recently set up a Marlin 60 that is getting around 1.5 MOA and would like to get my hat in a semi auto rimfire competition but there's not much to be had around Los Angeles.

  • Strawberry plant slowly dying.?

This is a young plant, under 6 months old, has been watered regularly, as well as trimmed, the weather has been in the mid 70s to 100/102 and the plant has started to wilt, lose its rigidity and brown, yet still produces some fruit.
