What is the general opinion of Zillow's accuracy in determining value of homes?
I have recently been keeping close track of my home's value on Zillow, more just out of boredom than any desire to sell. A couple of things I noticed; over the first several months of this year (2014) there was about a $12,000 increase on the estimated value. Then during the next couple of months there was about a $10,000 drop in the value, finally during the last month there has been another increase of approximately $15,000. This sort of led me to the conclusion (along with other factors) that Zillow just likes to create activity on a piece of property to give the impression it is keeping its finger on the pulse of the real estate market.
Also, I noticed that homes in my neighborhood showed much less movement in price during this same time period. I noticed the number of views (Zillow view count) for my home was considerable more than the other homes, this due of course to the fact that I was creating most of these views. So I was also wondering if the number of views may be one of the indicators Zillow uses to determine the value of/or interest in a particular piece of real estate. Any information or opinions would be appreciated. Thanks
7 AnswersRenting & Real Estate7 years agoWhy do some US currency bill have a letter in the federal reserve bank seal ; while others use a digit?
I have noticed that some US bills have a letter in the federal reserve bank seal, on the left side of the front of the bill, while others use a digit. For instance I have seen some San Francisco bills with the letter L while others use the digit 12. I have noticed that the digit corresponds to the letters position in the alphabet; for instance L being the 12th letter of the alphabet, I was wondering under what circumstances do they use L and when do they use 12?
1 AnswerOther - Business & Finance7 years agoExtending FMLA work accommodations?
An employee has been working for the company for four years as a lead supervisor, had to take FMLA days every Friday for 60 weeks to take her ill mother to appointments. At the end of 60 weeks, she returned to work full time and immediately began missing work to care for her mother until all of her allotted vacation and sick leave days were exhausted. She then asked for her Friday leave be extended indefinitely, because her mother’s condition remained serious and she required ongoing assistance.
The firm needs her to be at work regularly because of the increasingly heavy workload, the fact that her job duties are critical, and because other supervisors and employees preferred not to have to cover for her. On the other hand, she is an excellent supervisor and had worked four years for with no problems. In addition, everyone is concerned about her, and her mother’s welfare and wants to be supportive of them.
Questions
1. What are the advantages and disadvantages of extending her leave?
2. If you were the Human Resources Director, would you grant her request? And are there any applicables laws which may apply to her case?
1 AnswerLaw & Ethics1 decade agoWhat happens to the State Delegates of a Candidate who drops out of the running; in this case Mitt Romney?
If a political party candidate drops out of the running for president; what happens to the state delegates that candidate has won up until that point? Are they divided among the other candidates based on their performance in that state's primary? If a state was a winner take all state, do they go to the candidate who finished second? Or does each state have its own rules governing these delegates? Just curious. If possible provide source of your information. Thanks
2 AnswersElections1 decade agoCan a cosigner be held responsible for debts not covered on the original cosigned item.?
I am asking this question for a friend (really);
About a years ago my friend was asked by his son to cosign a $3000 loan to buy a quad. Several months after cosigning for the quad, the son was was approved for a $13,000 line of credit (I believe by the same company who financed the quad), the line of credit did not require a cosigner. The son ran up the credit card, then got behind on the payments, now the credit provider is claiming that not only is the son responsible but his father is also responsible as a cosigner on the originial item. My friend says he has tried about every avenue he can think of to rectify this situation, but so far it appears that the company was within its rights to do this. Does anyone have any experience or advise concerning a situation such as this? Any information would be appreciated, including an agency or organization which may be helpful in rectifying. Thanks

Here is the scenerio. I was on active duty military and got hit by a Humvee. I had neck and back problems, including disc replacement surgery in my neck. I have been waiting for final VA disposition on these and other medical conditions. I have been out of work for 10 months, my primary occupation in the military was 88M (truck driver) I am currently having severe back problems. and don't know if I will be able to return to work, although I would like to. My question is after 10 months out of work, would it hurt my chances of being approved for social security disability if I attempted to go back to work and found myself unable to hold down employment because of these conditions? To but it simply will I be better off to apply now after being out of work for this period, or would it be viewed the same? I would like it if someone with real knowledge of this subject provide me a decent answer or where to go to find an answer. This is the type question SS doesn't like to deal with

I have twenty four years of military service. Twelve years active duty Navy and twelve years Army National Guard with nearly four years of activation. Any first hand experiences would be appreciated. Thanks
5 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoAdvise on dealing on the bureaucracy of the Social Security Administration?
I will soon be filing a Social Security Disability claim. I have hear many horror stories of individuals dealing with them. I think it is a common belief (not entirely unfounded) that they automatically disallow an individual's first claim. I also know that many people often retain a lawyer to appeal their case. Is it possible/advisable to hire a lawyer from the onset to file the disability claim? Any advise would be appreciated.
