Can track spikes be used for cross-training?
So I have these track spikes that I don't really use anymore. If I take out the spikes, can I use them at the gym for cross training or for running (on cement)? I've never heard of ppl doing this but I love these spikes and I don't run track anymore but I would love to still use them.
2 AnswersRunning9 years agoWhat to do if my running shoes shrunk in the dryer?
Ok so I recently put my running shoes in the dryer and they SHRUNK!! I know I wasn't supposed too...I've been running for a while and my coach always told me not to do it. But i really don't want to be new running shoes...I've only had these for a couple of months. Is there anything I can do to loosen them up a little? Will they loosen up over time?
4 AnswersRunning9 years agoHas anybody ran a marathon?
I just want to ask about people's experiences with running marathons. I'm running one in a few months and I'm curious about a few things. Like how much harder is it compared to a half. I ran one earlier this year and I really enjoyed it. It was tiring but I didnt really hit a wall or anything like that. And I wasn't in too much pain afterwards...just a little sore for a couple of days. Is the marathon at all like this?? Does it hurt really bad?? People talk about hitting a wall...does it exist??
1 AnswerRunning9 years agoHow sore are you typically after a full marathon?
So I'm running a full marathon in a couple of month and I was just curious about how I should expect to feel afterwards. I ran a half-marathon and I wasn't in too much pain after that. Like I was a little sore but was still able to work out the next day. So...should I expect a similar experience for the full??
1 AnswerRunning9 years agoHow do I get rid of this horrible smell and taste?
Ok, so I'm getting over a cold. It's been about a week since I got sick. I didn't get very sick at all...it was mostly just a sore throat and a lot of coughing. But throughout the cold (at least that's what i think it was) everything smelled soo weird...like a musty or metally kind of smell...like i cant really explain it. and the smell doesnt go away!! now ive even started to taste it too...like i feel like its coming from the back of my throat but either way it will not go away. And it starting to really annoy and bother me. Has anybody ever experienced this.

2 AnswersDiet & Fitness10 years agoHalf-marathon in week!! Am i gonna die?
Ok, so I'm doing a half-marathon in less than a week. I'm a little worried about how I'm going to do. I just got off an injury and haven't really run much for 7 weeks. However, before that I worked really hard. I was putting in 35-40 miles a week and hit 13 a couple times as well. I definitely put in about 3 months of really good training....and then I got hurt :( Is all that training going to help me at all during this race? I also did a lot of biking and spin classes while I was injured...so I'm hoping that might help.

3 AnswersLaw & Ethics10 years agoDoes this running injury seem familiar to anyone?
Ok, so my foot has been killing me for over 2 weeks. I went to the doctor...got an X ray...and it's not a stress fracture. i know that those dont show up on x rays but the doctor doesnt think it is one either. because when she pushes on my foot it doesnt hurt at all. it only hurts when i bend it...or like when im pushing off during running.
But she had me wear a boot for a while anyway. So i wore it for a week...went back...and was completely pain free. she told me to go ahead and start running. the minute i started running...the pain came back. same thing...like the boot didnt help at all. its soo weird cuz it doesnt hurt all the time. only when i start running on it. and then it will get really tight and i wont be able to flex my foot for a few days.

2 AnswersRunning10 years agoDo I have a stress fracture?
So my foot has been bothering me ever since I ran my 10k about a week ago. At first it just hurt on the top of my foot. Now the pain is not really bad anymore but my foot has gotten kind of stiff. It's hard for me to lift my big toe too and i cant really point me toes out. Has anybody else experienced this? I think it could either be a stress fracture or tendinitis...
1 AnswerInjuries10 years agoWhat should I do if I think I have a stress fracture?
Ok, the top of my foot has been killing me recently and I think I may have a stress fracture. I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to prevent it from getting worse and maybe help it heal quickly. I know I should take time off...but the only problem is that I'm running a half-marathon in 6 weeks. I worked soo incredibly hard this summer and taking a break isnt really an option. I'm also kinda scared to see a doctor. When I ran track I had friends who were put in these boots when they had fractures in their feet...and they couldn't run for 6 weeks!!! Any advice?? Like maybe I had tape it or something...and still continue to run??

Just wondering...cuz it seems that it always end up being the current president (who just finished their first term) against candidates from the opposing party.

4 AnswersLos Angeles10 years agoIs swimming a good form of exercise?
So I took a break from running this past week because I injured myself. But I've been swimming everyday instead. However, I don't feel that I'm getting a good workout in the pool. I basically just do laps (mostly freestyle and breast stroke). Is this doing anything?? Are there any other workouts I cana do in the pool??
