I don't want you to be sensitive to the guys here. Truthfully, is bigger really better?? Is the experience different? You kind of need to have the experience of both bigger and smaller to answer properly....

I have always been interested in the way a city functions as a whole - the zones, the roads, civic facilities, etc. But what is involved in the profession? Any general or specific answers will be welcomed.

When I press the power button, I hear a single click followed by a series of short clicks. The HDD light blinks as though it is trying to light up completely, then all the lights go off and the computer doesn't start. Sometimes the computer turns on, sometimes it doesn't. I have removed the hard drive, the memory, and even tried docking it and the same thing happens. When the computer is on, it works just fine. Can somebody help? I don't want to take it to a technician unless I really have to.

I am looking to find arguments for and against realism with respect to beauty. Is beauty a universal, is it absolute, or is it just in the eye of the beholder? Serious answers only, please.

So, happy birthday. The reason I ask this is because today is my Mom's 50th B-day and she has advanced stage cancer. She was diagnosed June of last year, at which time the doctors said that my Mom had a 1-year survival chance of less than 20%. 6 weeks she spent in the hospital, including her 49th b-day, where she told me that she would probably never see 50. It is now a year later, and although she is still receiving chemo and sometimes feels like garbage, her spirits are up. She has lived half a century. And although I don't know billions of people, I feel she is one of the sweetest, appreciative, and most humble, person I have ever met, despite the suffering and loss she has experienced in her life. I just wanted to ask those with b-days today, what do you love and appreciate most about your years here?

I need a good technical answer. I know it is not completely known why, and I know that there are many different genes involved, but can somebody give me a clear answer?

If more people had guns, especially the security guards, the massacre may have been stopped.

My Mom was diagnosed with advanced colon cancer last year and I have been emotionally torn ever since. The doctors don't seem optimisitc because it has spread. They say that once it spreads, they have no way of being able to remove all of it before it critically damages vital organs. But isn't chemo supposed to attack all cells in the body? Please help.
