  • Can filing for divorce help my child with financial aid?

My husband and I have been considering divorce for several years, but continue to stay together only for the kids benefit. We now have a daughter getting close to attending college. Its been my understanding that if we were to seperate we could be doing ourselves and the kids a favor when it comes to student loans, aid, and grants. Does anyone have any tips or advice about this? We aren't doing anything illegal, as I said, we've been considering divorce for years, this just seems to be a opportune time.

  • I have a Nikon D7000 that im shooting sports with..?

Im attempting to get individual shots of Volleyball players indoors.

My problem is I'm having trouble getting the camera to fire fast enough to catch the action of the players.

I've talked to some friends and they feel its got something to do with my focal points. I've adjusted the focus metering button but have the same results. We are wondering if the reason it sometimes doesn't shoot, is if its focusing on two many faces (which I can see several boxes in my viewfinder.

ANY suggestions on where to go to reduce my focal points to the single one (vs finding 4/5+ faces) would be fantastic. Thanks ahead of time.

  • headlights wont work 98 Ram 2500?

The headlights on my 98 Dodge Ram (2500 Diesel) will not come on. The parking lights come on when the switch is pulled - but no lights. Not even brights. When I flick over my brights - I can get the lamps to work as long as I hold the level to switch to brights. As soon as I let it go - the lights are gone again. Any ideas? (Already checked fuses)

  • I found a interesting snake in our wood pile the other day and wondered if anyone could identify it?

The snake was very small (not more then 8-10 inches) - mousy tan in color with a pretty red/orange ring around its head and end of its tail. The belly was also a red/orange color. He did not have a viper head - so I'm venturing to say he was not a poisonous snake. Any photos or info would be great! Thanks!

  • Can the White blindness to a horses Eye be temporary?

I have a young gelding that was found in the pasture with an icicle hanging from his eyelashes. He was thrashing in circles - nearly throwing himself down - away from the icicle, when I found him. There was obvious cuts to the exterior of the eye which look to have been caused by the icicle. He had been bleeding and the eye was swollen shut.

Obviously he was in extensive pain - so he wasn't interested in having it doctored. He's been getting treated for this injury for 5 days - with Penicillin injections, Banamine for pain, Atropine salve and clear eyes. We have the horse in barn - in the dark and he wears a make shift Eye Patch - (fly mask and Cup) to protect the eye. He's treated 2 times a day - He developed Conjunctivitis (likely due to Atropine) which lasted about 3 days. Today (4-5) days later, the swelling in the eye is gone - although still has a slight cut above the lid. He no longer has any Gooey drainage (caused by Conjunctivitis). However, now with his eye open - it is completely blue/white with a slight hint of a dark pupil.

My question is this: Might his eye sight come back. Could the foggy eye - just be in response to the trauma or is it likely that he will be blind?

  • Some open sentences are true for all variable values?

This is a question in my 7th graders math book - I want to say the statement is true! Am I misunderstanding the question? Does it mean that no matter what value I give the variable - it is possible for some open sentences will be true? Ie: t(0) = 0

So no matter what value I give T - the open sentence will be true - as it will equal zero?

Sorry if this is confusing -

  • Why do horse flies bother some horses more then others?

I have a big bay mare that seems to attract horse flies more then the other horses. I have 7 horses in a pasture together and the for some reason this mare is the only one with nasty bloody horse fly bites on her! I can stand there and watch them swarm the herd and ignore the other horses, only to land on her! Why might this be? Any suggestions on how to change it? (outside of the obvious - fly spray - fly sheets) She's not an unhealthy mare - not underweight - or old - so eliminate those from yor answers! Thanks in advance for your help!

  • What kind of Snake is this?

We found this snake in NE Kansas - we have seen 3 now, and all three in the water.... (creeks) The first time - my puppy lied down on it - and was not bitten. The second time - it slithered from under a rock between someones legs - again not bitten - so we thought not likely a copperhead as its not aggressive?
