  • German Lebenslauf translation help?

I'm translating my English CV into a German Lebenslauf. Opinions on what should or should not go into a Lebenslauf aside, I would like to translate the following:

"[My responsibilities were:] liaising with Senior Mangement to address areas of concern and to suggest ways to improve performance."

The part I'm having the biggest problem with is the verb "to liaise" which I understand translates to "sich in Verbindung setzen (mit)" but I'm not really sure how it should fit together with the rest.

  • German sentence order with (an)statt...zu?

In my German class today I had to reword the part of this sentence in brackets using "(an)statt...zu" or "(an)statt dass"

"Wenn du dich wieder mal über mich ärgerst, [dann rede doch bitte nicht mit dritten Personen darüber, sondern komm sofort zu mir!]"

    My solution was:

", statt mit dritten Personen darüber zu reden, komm sofort zu mir!"

However, my teacher said that this doesn't sound right and it should be this way round:

", komm sofort zu mir, statt mit dritten Personen darüber zu reden"

In my opinion, both sound correct but which way round you have it is dependent on which part of the sentence you want to put more stress on. This would be true for English I think which is why I'm having a problem understanding why it can't also go both ways in German.
