  • A right delayed is a right denied?

So if I receive a delay status on my background check when purchasing a firearm, they have 10 business days to process it. If it still doesn't get processed I can fill out a petition to force it through giving the FBI an additional 10 days. So what happens if I'm attacked during this 4 week span? Who do I sue?

  • Any suggestions for a muzzle device for 45acp?

Looking for a recoil reducing brake that works with the rifle at any angle. Most devices I find are either only flash hiders, or they reduce recoil and muzzle flip with the rifle being held in the typical upright position. If I roll the rifle to use offset sights  or a red dot, I have to compensate for the now rotated brake venting gasses at odd angles and playing havoc with the barrel harmonics.

Any recommendations  for 45acp and 10mm would be appreciated

  • Diameter of just right carbine barrel?

Are all the barrels the same outside diameter across the different calibers or not?

  • Anybody carry their p226 in single action?

Just picked up a 226 equinox and the double action trigger is a bit heavy for me. It's smoother than a stick of butter in a sauna, but heavy. Are there any trigger kits to reccomend or should I just carry it 1911 style?

  • JRC caliber conversion?

Looking at purchasing a just right carbine takedown, does anyone know if the mag well and barrel for 10mm and 45 ACP will fit on 9mm model? What about the bolt?

  • Should 6.5 become the new US military standard?

Mass production of one round and two case sizes (Grendel and creedmoor).

We would keep the 50bmg and 300blk for specialized tasks

Sure it doesn't hit as hard or travel as far a 308 (as a creedmoor round) but it clobbers the 5.56 (in the Grendel round) hands down and thats what is used in bulk anyway.

Wouldn't this make manufacturing, training and stockpiling easier?

I have a Steyr L40-A1 and need to find the spring weight so I can get a new spring for a tungsten guide rod.

  • Do I need to stake my castle nut?

Ive seen the pws ratcheting castle nut, but it looks hard to remove (same reason I don't want to stake mine).

I know I could use locktite but I wanted to see if there are other options out there, like using 2 narrow castle nuts like jam nuts?

  • Best carry .380?

Looking at a G42, bersa thunder plus, or the bp380cc.

I like that lights are available for the g42 and bp380cc but the capacity of the thunder plus is nice too.

  • Open top holster or no?

Looking into a custom kydex holster for open carry but not sure what to do about security. Retention is bang on, but the fact there's no way to secure the pistol in holster when not in use worries me.

    Any suggestions?

  • Strobe feature on a weapon light?

What have been you're experiences? I like it because if I don't need it, I don't use it. But from the training I've done it's always given me the edge in a confrontation, even in daylight. It's a little bit of controlled chaos I can introduce that an attacker wasn't counting on. They either focus on the light and not on me which gives me an extra second to find the advantage or they close their eyes and try to fight blind which also gives me the edge.

    Thoughts?

  • Tlr1-hl or tlr-7a for defense pistol?

My G23 currently has a tlr-hl that I like because it works great as an impact point without damaging my barrel or guide rod (if I'm attacked during mag changes) it also can be used to leverage the gun back if an attacker tries to push it out of battery.

However its a pain to conceal carry and just wanted some thoughts and opinions on switching to the smaller light. The chance of it being knocked out of battery goes way up plus if caught between mags (assuming I dont have time to get the fresh mag in) id have to close the slide to muzzle thump someone but then im still left having to load and charge the pistol mid fight.

  • 223 whose or 556?

  • do bullets makers use the same powder recipe?

I switched from 180gr back to 165gr (same company, style and caliber of bullet) and wanted to know if the only difference is the size of the bullet. if the powder changed according to the bullet weight then it makes sense. If the powder charge stays the same, then either 165 is a good round while the 180 is underpowered or the 180 is the more suitable round and the 165 is being pushed to fast.

    whats the deal?

  • What is a practical level of armor?

Level 4 is some of the toughest stuff out there, it's also the heaviest. This could be a pro in that there is more mass to help dissipate energy of smaller rounds but the weight, the rest of the time your not being shot, would be rough.

There's lightweight 3a armor which wears more easily, but with less mass each round that connects will deal massive damage. Not to mention the fact that higher velocity rounds will punch clean through it.

the plates in question will be curved 11x14 AR500 plates.
