My 14 year old shi-tzu Caramel is sick. i think he caught the flu from me. his nose is inflamed a bit and dry. also he has stopped eating and has grown weak enough not to be able to stand. I am petrified that this is it for him. I adopted him only 2 years ago. I know he doesn't have long but i wanted to know if there are any home remedies or OTC things i can give him to make him feel better enough to at least eat. any suggestions? PS i am making an appointment for him asap. I am unemployed and only have had temp work so i can;t afford much.

I have been friends with this guy for quite a few months now (almost a year). I know that he likes me but i get the feeling that he likes me for all of the wrong reasons. I recently broke up with my bf of a year and a half and now that i am single, my friend is trying to get with me again. I like him. He's very cute, tall and super sweet. I think he has great intentions and would be a wonderful bf. It's just that (isn't that the way it always is?) he's a virgin and has never had a girlfriend. I'm used to dating more experienced men and have never been with a virgin before (well not since I wasa virgin anyway). I feel like I may be too much for him or that he will be super protective of our relationship (he is a hard core muslim and really wants to get married after he finishes college) he knows how i am (a black american buddhist who doesn't want children and loves to travel. not exactly into settling down) so i am wondering why he wants to be with me so badly. so what do you think?

Bella has had this spot since before i adopted her. it was scabby at first but it has healed. the fur growing in is a bit ruff though. i don't know if i should use something on it or just let it grow back. please tell me what you think. Thanks

My new chihuahua doesn't seem to be necessarally afrain of people but does get nervous when people are loud or kids chase her. when we are on our walks she is friendly and lets people pet her sometimes. she gets on great with other dogs. no problems there. but she almost never comes when i call her unless i am firm with her. and when she does come she creeps and then rolls over at my feet. i feel bad because i don't want her to be afraid of me but i don't know what to do to break her out of it. my friend told me to give her time (i just adopted her very recently) but i'm not sure that that is really all she needs. any advice?

I live with 3 other people. we all have different schedules and they are asleep when i leave for work. i walk and feed my dogs before I leave and walk them when i get home. My roomate has complained a couple of times that my boy, caramel, has made his way upstairs and is barking at his door while he's trying to sleep. i have since put up a barrier so he can't get upstairs but he's still barking. I got a call this morning from my roomate for the barking this morning but he doesn't know why caramel keeps barking despite him saying "quiet" or "no". I suggested spraying him with water in a spray bottle whenever he barks but i'm not sure if that is going to help. any suggestions? Thanks

I've introduced her to my current dog already and they seem to really like eachother. But i have noticed that new dog is extremely submissive and almost afraid of human contact. I really want to bond with her and help her to trust humans because she is really cute and sweet and I know that allot of people will want to pet her, children especially. So Any ideas on how to help her gain confidence and learn to trust?

Why do men date women that they will never marry and marry women who remind them of their mother? what is the thought process of men when they look for women to date and women to marry?

My boyfriend of 18 months and I are ready to get engaged but there is a big issue that we have conflicting opinions on and I am begining to feel that he and I may not be able to compromise on. He wants children and I don't. As much as we love eachother we have found that throughout our relationship we just can't agree one way or the other. I know that a major factor in him wanting children is due to his beliefs and I simply was an only child and have never enjoyed the company of children for longer than a few hours. He wants a traditional family life and I want us to be a fabulous jet setting loving married couple. I think both are fine but our compromises usually end up with me saying ok to at least one kid and putting it off for 5 or 10 years after we are married. That to me isn't really a compromise cuz it's like either you have kids or you don't. I love him like no one else in this world but I know that we can't both be happy based on our feelings about this right now. Any advice?
