  • Anxiety Attack upon meeting Celebrity?

I recently had an opportunity to meet a favorite radio host, and upon reaching him, I gave him a hug, and then began crying and had an overwhelming desire to hide. I was very happy and excited prior to greeting him, but I knew that I was nervous.

Is this an anxiety attack? If I go to another public outing of his, how can I better maintain my composure?

  • Aggressive/Redirection behavior issue when at daycare...?

My adult neutered Akita has been running into problems at my work. He is very stressed and agitated when he cannot see me, and has started to snap at other dogs, or even go after them, if they come up to the gate he is guarding. He gets worse after being kenneled, yet kenneling is a normal part of the daycare routine.

My options that I can think of are:

    1. Stop taking him to work (he doesn't need, never had it before, and probably won't miss it)

    2. Take him on another day, and get him formally kicked out for having another bad day (I'd be certain of his behavior, no more questions in my mind)

    3. Get him a crate, and work on making being kenneled/crated a positive thing, rather than a frustration/stress thing.

    4. Whatever you wonderful people suggest :D

  • How do I retrain my dog to not bark at children at play?

My 3 year old neutered Akita barks when children run, stomp, shout, or get active around him. I believe he does it because we used to have annoying neighborhood children who would bother him when he was in the yard, or on the balcony, "woofing" at him, and generally pestering him. He will also bark at my boyfriend and myself when we get loud while wrestling.

It doesn't happen very often, and he rarely barks on walks or at the park. However, I have him in an obedience class right now (that just happens to have 6 uncontrolled children) and his huge, deep, loud bark can be very distracting (despite the children romping around being completely ignored by people).

I even put up a barrier, and had him face towards me in a corner, yet he'd bark at the sounds of stomping or children's noisy voices, also it was very difficult to follow along while having to keep him occupied.

Please help me figure out how to teach him not bark at children when they are playing! :) Thanks.

  • How can I develop a healthier diet without access to a proper kitchen, living and working in distant cities?

I live in one city, work in another, go to school in another. All locations have a microwave available, but rare are cooling options.

At home (rented), I only have a minifridge, but a large cupboard for storage. My minifridge has a small area of freezer (kinda just makes it a bit cooler, not actually freezing).

As you can probably guess, I have many microwavable meals, some oven meals, but rarely cook anything. I have access to the house's kitchen, but it's difficult to share with the other housemates.

To summarize, I would like to eat more healthy (I eat a lot of junk, preservatives, bread products, fast food), but am limited to items that travel well, can be stored easily (without using up much room), are convienent and easily prepared...

    Thanks, in advance.

  • How can I repair or recreate this sandblasted mirror?

It was a school project from my high school art class from 2005.

At the time, I only paid $5 material fee for the mirror itself. Our teacher took care of the sandblasting.

We had placed a sticky white contact sheet over the mirror, then cut out the exact areas where we wanted the sandblasting (pawprints, moon and wolf) then just given it to the teacher. For the picture area, we razorblade scratched out the back, then just taped a picture on it.

Do I have to throw this one out? Is there any website that would help recreate it? Can I take it to a certain type of craft store to get help remaking a new one?

    Thanks for any help!
