  • Recording a demo CD in Austin, TX?

So I'm brand new to the music industry, I play guitar and write my own songs. The thing is I ONLY play guitar and have no idea how to write other instruments into my songs, but I know I need to figure that out!

So My question is, do recording studios ever help you out as far as that goes? I know you can hire people to help produce the CD, but do they do anything as far as writing in instruments?

Again, brand new at this, so if I sound really dumb, just let me know, lol.

I would also love any advice anybody has for someone just starting out! :)

  • When copyrighting a song........?

When you copyright a song, you fill out all the paperwork online and send it in and all that jazz, but do you have to send a separate fee and forms for every song you right, or is it one fee for everything you send in? I'm guessing its one fee per song but it can't hurt to ask lol

  • Using a capo to write songs on guitar?

Say you have decided to play a song you wrote in the key of c, but then you put a capo on the second fret. This makes it into the key of D correct? And you can play the same chords(as in fingerplacement) but they will sound like the chords in the key of D? Is this right? Or am I compleyly off?

  • Question about chords in a key on guitar?

So I was watching an instructional video a while back on the one and only youtube.com and the guy was talking about the chords in each key. Simple stuff right? So then he went on to say that you can bar each chord or something to that effect. This was a while back so I dont remember very well and I cant think of the video. So does that mean you could take all of the chords in the key of say...c for example and put a capo on the first fret and play them all like that? or would you have to put a capo on a certain fret for it to still be in the key of c? Sorry, beginner here, trying to teach myself!

  • Is it cycled yet???????????????

My tank is a 46 gallon tank thats been set up for about a week so far with no fish yet. I want to put 4 fancy goldfish in there.

It has a 100 gallon filter and a 50 gallon filter on it. The 100 gallon filter was found on craigslist and had filter media in it that had been used in a previous tank. Every day I've been putting a few fish pellets in there to create ammonia. Anyway, I didn't expect it to have any nitrates yet, but I tested it today and it's already started getting nitrate in it??? Could it be cycling this fast? I thought nitrate didn't develop in the tank till at least the third week in the cycle?

  • Singing in key with a guitar.?

Im learning guitar by myself and I cant find an answer to this question.

When you match a note in a chord while singing, does it have to be one of the strings you are holding down in the chord, or can it be one of the open strings?

  • What species do you recommend?

At the moment I own one green wing macaw and one sun conure. My dad and I where talking about adopting another small bird to add to our 'flock'

I brought up parakeets and he wants something more Intelligent than them. He was thinking another conure of some sort, or a quaker. He also liked the look of indian ring neck parakeets (I think that's what they're called?)

I want to look at all the different kinds before choosing ones. Out of the conures i have looked at, the green cheek and nandays both seem very cool. I like the Quakers because of the large vocabulary they can develop, despite their size.

    So yea, any suggestions?

  • Best parrot diet for macaw?

I've had my captive bred green wing for about 5 years now.My mother doesn't want to get him a better pellet because it is to 'expensive' (why the hell did you get a macaw if you expected it to be cheap? lol ) Atm he is fed hartz seed with mixed nuts(Walnuts, hazelnuts, brazil nuts, peanuts, etc..) and mixed veggies, and i'll give him table food pretty often, fruits, veggies, sometimes my family gives him meats(I obviously don't lol, look at the username...) and he likes crackers as a treat. I've been reading up on macaw nutrition, and i've read to many nuts and such could lead to liver damage. I've also read that pellets are the best base diet, with seeds, nuts, fruits, veggies, pasta etc... for variety. From what i've been reading these foods seem good.

    http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productI...

    http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productI...

and i've seen them at my local petsmart, my mom doesn't want to order anything. We tried feeding him this: http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productI...

but he doesn't seem to care for it much, but im thinking maybe its because we didn't introduce it correctly? We didn't slowly introduce it, that's how you should do it right?

With that food, there are so many words that i don't know how to say, haha, so idk if it is good for him or not. I was thinking using the lafeber pellet as the base diet and the lafeber nutriberries, and the tropical carnival to add variety. Does this sound good? or do you think there is a better food out there that i can find locally. Ordering is not a possibility because of my mom, and i want to get him the best food possible locally.

Thank you for reading all of it! haha i know it's long!

Also, we got this bird when i was 9, and so they have been following what the breeders told the to do (high quiality seed and nuts and veggies basically...) but his feathers are looking raggedy and my father agrees, he needs a better diet.

ALSO: What's the best way to introduce the new food to him? I also have a Sun conure, would the same brand but smaller pellet be good for her?

    Thank you!

  • Swine flu vaccine?? Do I really need it?

Ok, so my moms freaked out about swine flu cause she watched a 60 minutes documentary on it. She says 30% of the people who catch it, die from it and that its mostly teenagers, so im getting the shot as soon as its available. Butt, i hate shots, ive been directly exposed to swine flu and did not catch it. I am extremely healthy for my age(I'm 14) and have a strong immune system. Can anyone link me to some good site about the dangers of the vaccine/why you DON'T need it?

  • Really sad country song?

    This is bugging me, lol

During the summer i slept over at a friends house and we where listening to some of our favorite songs on youtube. She showed me a song about a young girl dieing and she cried cause it reminded her of her aunt who died cause she didn't get to see the doctors fast enough. I remember it was sung my an older man(50's?) and he had a beard(haha if that helps) and i think there was some controversy about publishing it, not 100% sure on that. Its bugging me cause I really wanna listen to it but thats all i can remember about it other than it was a good, very country, song.

Any ideas of what it could be?

Also, i'm pretty sure the girl he sings about is blond, and in one scene hes in a church in the music video and the girl is 18 i think? Sorry if that doesn't help much, but thats all I can think of!

  • Stocking question? Could I add a few female bettas?

Hi, I have a cycled, heated, and filtered 37g tank with 2 mollies, 2 platy's(All female, but one platy is male) 4 guppies, 1 female betta, 1 red tail shark, and 2 bristle nose plecos, they get around 5 inches.

I was thinking of getting one more female betta and 4 female bettas, so I can have a lil group of females, and I know 5 in a group is the minimum, but i'm not sure if I have room?

  • Help with lighting for my 10 gallon?

I'm thinking of setting up a 10 gallon, and i want it to be planted. I can't find any 18" florescent bulbs that are more than 15watts(I want at least 25, preferably 30 watts) and I can't find a 20" hood or double strip light fixture, the smallest I can get is a 24" with 18" bulbs. That would work, wattage wise, but I don't want 2 inches hanging off each end, I really want this tank to look good! i'm gonna have a really pretty betta in it(Or possibly divide it and keep 2) and I want the hood to look nice and not be hanging off the side. Does anyone here has a high light 10g? What do you do for lighting? What do you think I should do?
