  • What is the maximum chamber diameter for .44 magnum revolver?

I'm reloading .44 mag rounds, but I'm getting a gouge ring at the very button of the case, almost .0625 to the case groove. It seems to me that the chambers on the cylinder are out of spec., and the cases are getting over expanded. I'm also having trouble getting the case thru the resizing die. I'm using a Hornady dies series II. My revolver is a Ruger Redhawk . Any help will be appreciated.

  • Problems reloading .270 Winchester ammo, rounds won't fire. What could be the root cause?

I reloaded 50 rounds of .270 for my Remington 750, but the ammo is not igniting. However, if I insert a cartridge straight to the chamber, the round will fire. The rifle is fine, since I can shoot with commercial ammunition with no problem. The case overall length was set to 3.180, which is the data I got for reloading Hornady Interlock 130 gr. I don't think it is a primer issue, since round that did not fire had the primer intact. Therefore, it seems to me that the round are not being chambered correctly. What could the root-cause of this problem? The primer are seating just below flush with the base of the case. The cases were trimmed around 2.530 and 2.536. Any positive thought is appreciated.
