  • 7 weeks postpartum...period question? TMI alert!?

Ok, I had my daughter 7 weeks ago and I'm waiting for my period to restart. I think it might be starting just because I've had a huge increase in discharge the past few days (and some cramping..along with diarrhea). Could these signs be the starting of my period? I'm waiting for it so I can get my depo shot. Any answers are appreciated. Thanks

  • Ideas to spice up the bedroom?

I am looking for good sexual position ideas/websites so that I can try them out on my hubby. Does anyone know of any good positions or sites so I can spice up our love life? I just had a baby a little bit ago and I want to try new things now that I am more limber. Thanks =D

  • Gals...Does this work for you?

I was reading an article called 50 Universal Truths about Men. In the article, it said that oral sex was a good way to get out of the doghouse. Well, last night I was in the doghouse. My husband was sleeping when I got home. Well, when I woke him up he wasn't happy with me because I was home later than I thought I'd be (I was at his mom's house with the kids). So I let him fall back asleep. About 30 minutes after he fell asleep, I gave him oral sex. Needless to say, it got me out of the doghouse =D Have you gals ever tried this when your men are a little mad at you and did it work?

  • This is disgusting but...How do I get rid of them? (Not my kids for you sick minded people)?

OK, we moved into our current apartment about 5 months ago. 2 months after we moved in, our downstairs neighbor moved in. Ever since she moved in, my children have been waking up with bug bites. I took them to the doctor and they said it was scabies! Bed bugs! I've never had bed bugs in my life! Now every night when my kids go to sleep, they are eaten up alive. I want something to keep them away. I was thinking of taking bleach water and spraying the kids beds down with it 2 times a day. Would that work? I need something that will kill these nasty things without causing any more harm to my kids. Thanks.

BTW: I have informed my landlord of this problem. He answer to me was to basically deal with it. So until I can save enough money to move, unfortunately I'm stuck here =(

  • 2 week old is constipated?

A few days ago, I switched my 2 week old daughter off of breast milk onto formula. I had to switch her because she wasn't gaining weight on the breast milk (I have some kind of deficiency that makes my breast milk not rich enough). On the breast milk she would poop everyday. Now since the switch, she hasn't pooped but once. It's been 3 days. Should I be concerned? If she doesn't poop by tonight then I'm going to give her a little prune juice (dr. always recommended it with my other 2 kids). Any ideas/advice is greatly appreciated.

  • Birthday party ideas for my 1 year old? Good game ideas?

My son is turning 1 this month. We're having a birthday party for him on the 21st. There will several other kids attending (ages 3-12). What are some good ideas for a birthday party for my son? I've been thinking of doing a themed party (If I do, I'm going to do Elmo because my son adores Elmo) but I also want to do some fun games that would include all the children. I don't want to do games for just the older kids because I don't want my son to feel left out (which he would..we had a birthday party for my nephew last month and my son cried because all the other kids left without him). Any ideas are very much appreciated. =D

  • Thank you ladies!! =D Labor question included?

I just wanted to let everyone know that I finally had my baby girl =D

Valerye Annette Bratton was born on Febuary 18, 2010 at 11:41 pm.

I was only in labor for 1 hour and 41 minutes (she came very quickly) =D

The thing that put me into labor was a really hot bath..

  • 39 weeks and OB visit tomorrow?

Hello all =D I'm 39 weeks, 4cm and 50% effaced. I have my OB visit tomorrow. I want to ask my doctor to perform a membrane sweep tomorrow. Do you think she will do this? This is a different dr. than I had with my other kids so I don't know if she will be willing to do a sweep or not. I've been 4cm for 2 weeks so I'm hoping she'll do it so hopefully I can progress and have this baby =D Thanks to all who answer =D

  • If you were 3 and hid mommy's car keys....?

Where would you hide them? Seriously, I need help. My daughter took my car keys last night and was playing with them. I told her to put them back, but of course 3 year olds don't always listen. Well, I have spent 3 hours trying to find the things. I even took every toy out of her toy box and put them back again one by one to make sure they weren't there. I know they're in my living room or closet somewhere (kitchen is baby-gated due to her brother..thankfully) but I just can't seem to find them. Any suggestions from mothers who have toddlers as to where to look? =D Thanks

  • Cramps and pains at 38 weeks??? Is this labor progressing?

I'm 38 weeks pregnant. I'm 4 cm dilated and 50% effaced. All night, I have been getting bad pains in my stomach and back that come with cramps. The cramps and pains last about 45 seconds then they let up. They're still not close enough to go to the dr (they're about 8-10 minutes apart). I just want to know if this is my labor finally progressing from early labor to active labor (that would be awesome!). Please give me any advice/stories. And pretty please, send labor dust my way =D Thanks

  • 38 weeks and need ideas?

Hi, I'm 38 weeks pregnant. I'm looking for other ways to help my labor progress. I am 4cm dilated and 50% effaced. I have very painful contractions but unfortunately, they haven't gotten closer together (they've been 7 minutes apart since 9pm last night). My dr. won't induce for another week. I've tried LOTS of walking and sex, I've tried some nipple stimulation, I've tried spicy food and pineapple, and I've even tried the castor oil (I absolutely refuse to repeat that again!). I've also tried warm baths and showers, evening primrose oil...any of the common suggestions. So, what else can I do? What made your labor progress? Any suggestions/stories are helpful =D Thanks

  • Just regular discharge or something more?

Ok, I am 37 weeks (almost 38 weeks) pregnant. I have been to the hospital twice for early labor. Two days ago, I lost my mucus plug (was confirmed by my doctor). At the dr. appointment, I was told I was almost 4cm dilated and thinning out..I was also told I might go into labor by sunday (I can only hope). But since yesterday, I have had a very significant increase in discharge. I've been wearing panty liners and the "discharge" will leak through two panty liners and get my pants wet. So I'm wondering if it's possible that I've been leaking fluid and just haven't known it..or is it just the regular increase in discharge? I've had 2 kids prior to this pregnancy but I haven't had my water break on it's own with either one, nor have I had this much discharge. I will be going in today to get checked (better safe than sorry) but I wanted to know if this has happened to any other person and if it was their water or if it was just discharge. Any stories/advice (besides go to the dr..I will be doing that as soon as my mother comes to get my other kids) will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  • Is there anyway I can stop my labor from progressing?

Ok, I'm 36 weeks and I'm about to ask something most women on here don't ask a lot. So my hubby is out of town for the next few days (he'll be back in about 5-7 days and I'll be full-term by then). The problem is that I have been contracting for a few days. They're not strong enough or regular enough to be admitted but they have been dilating my cervix. I went into the hospital last night and they checked my cervix. I was 1 1/2cm dilated and 30% effaced. The dr. said I was in early labor but refused to do anything to stop the contractions because I'm too far along. I have been trying really hard not to be too active because I want my hubby here when I deliver. Is there anything else I could do or should avoid so I don't go into active labor yet? Thanks =D

  • How does an Ultrasound determine the due date? (repost due to no answers)?

I know that when an ultrasound is done, they measure the baby. But exactly how do the come up with the due date based on the measurements? I was once told that they get the due date from the circumference of the baby's head. Is this true or do they take an overall measurement and figure the due date out somehow by that. For example, at 12 weeks pregnant, I was given the EDD of 02/25/10. So the OB made my due date 02/25/10 (my periods were irregular prior to that, so I didn't know my LMP). At 30 weeks, I had another ultrasound done. The baby's head and legs were measuring 32 weeks, while the midsection was measuring 30 weeks (I always have tall, skinny babies..my other two were 21-23 inches tall and only 6-8 pounds). So if due dates are determined by the head, wouldn't I have been 32 weeks at that point. Based on those measurements, I would be due 02/14/10. That would make me 35+4 weeks instead of 34 weeks. So am I due earlier? On valentines day I will still be full term, so if I was to deliver that would be ok. I am just trying to get a more accurate estimate on when I will deliver. Both my other babies were early (My daughter was 2 1/2 weeks early and my son was 5 days early). Any help is appreciated. Thanks =D

  • repost due to only 1 answer..water birthing question..women with experience please?

Ok, I was sitting in my itty bitty bathtub last night, and all of a sudden I found myself wondering how a natural water birth is done at home. I'm 30 weeks and was going to go to the hospital for mine but I was thinking that if I didn't have to be induced like I did with my other kids, then I'd like to look into water birth. So what happens when you do a water birth at home? Is the baby born into the water? If so, what happens if the baby comes out breathing? Can the baby drown? Do you get on your hands and knees to deliver? Any answers are appreciated.

  • Another Ultrasound at 31 weeks? Is this common practice?

Ok, I just came back from my dr. appointment for the baby. In my other 2 pregnancies (I had a different dr. then than I do now) I only had 1 ultrasound..that was at 20 weeks. I've already had the 20 week scan done with this baby. The appointment seemed to be going ok until she came back in with a paper for another ultrasound. I have it next tuesday, at which point I will be 31 weeks. Is this common practice? She said she wanted to check the growth of the baby. Does this mean my baby is too big or too small? I've never had a scan this far into my pregnancy before, so of course I'm a little put off. What will they do at this scan? Will they show my the baby's gender again (We had a 10 second look the first time, so I'd like another look just to be sure)? Thanks to everyone =D Happy Holidays
