  • Can I set up a modem and wireless router without a computer?

Just moved into an apartment. I have an Ipad but not an actual laptop/pc. I would like to set up a modem and wireless router with new internet service. Do I need a physical computer to do this or can I set them up without and connect wirelessly via the Ipad?

I already signed up for the Internet service (Time Warner).

  • Criminal injury compensation? Attacked in London in 2010?

One year ago, I was attacked in London by a mugger who hit me from behind with a bottle, which broke over my head. He hit me again and again, resulting in scarring in the back of the head but most prominently scarring across my forehead, a deep scar about an inch and a half long. He pushed me to the ground and hit me in the face again - resulting in swelling of the face and a black eye. He took all of my belongings and fled.

A witness called emergency and I was taken to the hospital by ambulance. I spent the evening/next day in the hospital with a concussion having to have stiches, having glass removed from my wounds, and being questioned by police.

To this day I still have headaches, dizziness, and of course a huge scar on my face that reminds me every day what happened. I also have scars in the back of my head where hair will never grow. I suffer from anxiety and sleep issues, for which I have been prescribed prescription sleeping medication and anti-anxiety medication. In the past 6 months I needed an MRI because of the continutation of dizziness which they say sometimes just never goes away.

Am I eligible for criminal compensation through CICA?

I should also mention I am a US citizen. I was in London working for my American based company on a UK work visa. I was supposed to stay longer but returned home to the US a few days after my incident when I was cleared to fly.

I kept in touch with police during the investigation. We had many calls, email exchanges, and I provided testimony. They did find a suspect, who was charged, but there was not enough evidence (despite DNA on the bottle found at the seen). I know the suspects name, and while I gave a good description, I was unable to have the chance to ID him in person.

Any suggestions? I have been thinking about this a lot lately.

  • Will I make my flight home to the US from London if I fly the same morning from Dublin-London? Please help !!

I am a US citizen doing some traveling at the end of the month. My flight home is out of Gatwick Airport in London on Aug 12 at 11am.

I will be doing a tour in Ireland that ends on August 11. There is a fantastic RyanAir flight from Dublin into Gatwick airport on August 12, leaving at 8am and arriving at 9:30am.

My flight home to NY leaves at 11am out of Gatwick, so I will be at the same airport.

Part of me thinks how great, I will already be in the airport and it won't be a problem to make my flight, and it's perfect!!!

But I'm also worried-- Will I have to go through security again? Will I have to go through passport check again since I am a US citizen? If I check luggage, will waiting to pick it up and then recheck it take too long? Will the 1.5 hours be enough time to get on my flight???

Thanks so much for any advice! I don't want to fly back to London on the 11th, pay for a night there, and then get back to Gatwick the next morning but I also don't want to miss my flight
