Just wondering.

3 AnswersOther - Skin & Body1 decade agoWhat do you think of my poem?
It's a take on Jaques Speech from Shakespeare's Play "As you like it"
All the world’s a stage,
And all the men and women merely players,
They have their exits and entrances,
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages.
What of us women?
Merely stage-crew playing only hidden parts,
Or do we have our roles on stage, in life,
The lead in our own play?
At first an infant,
Mewling and puking in our parent’s arms.
Then a tiny school girl with plaits and ribboned hair,
Bright and fresh,
New experiences each day.
And then a not-quite woman,
Aware of every step she takes,
But not able to control them,
Stumbling along the way to womanhood.
Now a fully fledged woman,
Making her way to the adult world,
Full of promises and hope,
Full of future.
Now experienced in her ways,
A mother, a worker, whatever her choice,
Her woes and joys carved into her face,
A hint of silver in her hair.
Wisdom in her eyes,
Her past behind her,
A long and winding path,
Each day a treasure,
Nothing to fear,
She has reached old age.
A withered flower,
Lay she limp where she departed,
The path always reaching the same end,
Let us hope that it was peaceful.
Laid to rest is her body,
Gone is her soul,
But live is her memory,
But live are those who knew her.
Thanks in advance, constructive criticism please. :)
2 AnswersPoetry1 decade agoMy grandfather died recently..how do I cope?
My grandfather died yesterday and it's really taken a toll on the whole family, especially my mum. She is really shaky and will just cry at anything. I know it's normal but it's hurting me too and by it hurting her so much it makes it worse for me. I have school work I have to do and I have my end of years next week and I am just not coping. The atmosphere is awful at home and I can't get anything done.
What do I do?

2 AnswersWomen's Health1 decade agoI think I did really badly on a Physics test...?
I have been really stressed about this all week. On Tuesday we had a Physics exam which will count towards our end of year report. I didn't revise enough and I know that but I'm really worried about the result and I missed a few questions on the test because I really didn't know how to handle them... What should I do??? Can you give me some good methods of revision, when I come to revise I'm never really sure what to do..
Also, in tests I usually find myself rushed to finish them, this was how I was at the end of this exam, Are there any tips you can give me with this.
I'm in year 9 and am doing a Physics modular test at the end of the year and this test doesn't count to anything other than my end of year grade...
Thanks xx

12 AnswersChristmas1 decade agoWhat do you think of this poem?
The emptiness
To be alone it is unnatural
It goes against the instinct.
Yet here I stand
Isolated from love
Surrounded but my cries unheard
Growing more bitter by the day
I implode
Seek solace within myself
A withered shell
A hollow soul
The remnants of a child.
3 AnswersPoetry1 decade agoHaving a bit of a schoolwork crisis!!!?
I am currently in year 9 at an all girls grammar school. In most subjects I am achieving a level 7 at national curriculum, all apart from the languages where I am achieving level 5's mostly. Is this ok? I've been feeling really stupid recently because there are so many people around me achieving 8's and I used to be really good at most things and now I have this one friend who always compares herself with me because I used to be doing a little better than her but now, although I know she doesn't mean to, she wafts her grades in my face which make me feel even worse.
Also, I can never get on with my work and always find ,myself distracted by other things! Can you please help me! I really want good grades because I want to be a doctor when I'm older.
Thanks in advance :)
10 AnswersOther - Education1 decade agoWhat do you think of my poem on good and evil?
Good and evil.
To put out your little flame is all too simple.
The weight of it dragging you down,
dimming your flame.
The weight of the darkness.
You feel it on your shoulders,
You see it on the news,
There is no escape.
No sanctum for your tender flame,
No place for you to hide.
Just you and your light.
But in the distance glows another gentle burning flame.
Each tiny thing can build a roaring fire.
A place of sanctum,
You bask in the light,
You overcome the darkness.
Just some opinions and constructive criticism please.
Thank you xx
1 AnswerPoetry1 decade agoGrammar and punctuation help?
Well I'm in Year 9 in the UK but I still have trouble with punctuation and I am sure there are mistakes in this but I'm unsure how to correct them.
Just a few sentence I'd like you to check...
How she has done it, I am unsure yet somehow it no longer surprises me.
I cannot live in fear of this woman;this being.
I will not stay, I will find a way out.
If you want to know what it's from then it's from a diary entry I wrote for Arthur Kipps after the destruction of the nursery in The Woman in Black. Not that that's important :)
Thanks xx

I'm 13 and have to write a poem for homework... what do you think?
What is a hero?
Is a hero the man who fights a war?
Is a hero the nurse who treats him?
Is a hero the man who died in battle?
Is a hero the man he killed?
Are the heroes the ones who sit afraid?
Are the heroes the ones who flee?
Are the heroes the ones who shelter them?
Are the heroes the ones who are safe?

2 AnswersFriends1 decade agoCan you have a read of this story I wrote?
around desperately and to my surprise found that I was not alone. I saw resigned looks on the faces of the people around me who looked somewhat insubstantial. I tried to cry out to them to ask for help but heard nothing, not even the sound of my own fearful plea for help. I looked once more at the solid wall willing it to transform into a door and free me but found myself too taking on the resigned look of those around me. I was trapped.
1 AnswerBooks & Authors1 decade agoCould you lot tell me what you thik of my ghost story intro?
I'm only 13 so it's not that great :) We are doing a 1000 word ghosts tory ad this is my intro. All opinions welcome. Thank you :
The House Without a Door
I had always found that house curious, each time I passed it a new explanation sprouted in my overactive mind, each more fanciful than the previous. The house as I first saw it was a large Victorian house with all it’s original features even a queer little gargoyle sprouting above the non-existent door. You see, that was the striking factor of this house it was without a door.
I was on my way to work, passing the same scenery as I would any other day, the tramp with the mouldy hat who I always left a sandwich for on my way home, the telephone box which had never worked, dear Trevor the milkman who was the way in which I had been keeping time the last few mornings since my watch stopped working and finally the house which had captured my imagination since childhood, the house without a door. When I arrived at work, a small dingy estate agents in essex, I found my new assignment on my desk in a nest folder. I opened it up to find s couple of different houses: a small apartment off Greene Street, a 3 bedroom new build in Frederick Avenue and finally a house I knew so well yet so little about, the house that had me trapped.
