  • Connecting to Network Problems?

    Hey all,

I am having some problems with certain applications on my computer. Mainly Java downloads, activating Microsoft Office and the iTunes store. Whenver I click one of those applications, I get a message similar to "(application) can't connect to the network, please check your firewall)". I've checked my firewall on Windows Security Center yet I still can't get any success.

Can anyone give me a detailed way to access the network.

  • 4:30 mile by End of Spring Track?

Basically, I'm a JR in HS and my PR is currently at 4:42 for the mile. Not too bad, as I have improved a bit but still want to get in the 4:30-4:35 range.

Winter Track just ended for me on Friday so I am in my "offseason". Should I take the next 3 weeks off until Spring starts or keep running? If not, should I incorporate things like Threshold Training, Fartleks, Long Distance runs (6+ miles)?

My 800 is only 2:09 and my 3200 is an average 10:30, if that helps.

  • Members for a Website?

    Hey,

I have a sports message board and I am trying to find ways to get more people involved with it. I have a lot of members (250) BUT only 7 or so active ones (not including myself). Now, I do not want to spend anything (so don't say buy a domain), I am just looking for legitimate ways to get more people to come to a website and I have already tried affliating with other websites.

I don't want to be a nuisance and PM members on other boards as I feel it's wrong.

    THANKS!

  • Another Stomach Flu?

I had the stomach flu last Valentine's Day (2007) and I am the biggest person to worry. I didn't get since 2000 and I pretty much worried every day until it finally came.

Now, during track practice we had a kid that I believe had a stomach bug as his whole family had it. Unfortunately for me, we were doing baton practices, and we touched the same baton. I am pretty certain that I didn't touch my nose, ears, eyes, etc but I am not feeling too hot right now as I am worrying.

Now can I still get it? I washed my hands immediately as I came home and I last touched that baton at 10:00 AM yesterday (8:00 PM now). I think it may have been the same strand that has been making rounds all winter/early spring, so if I got that straind can I get it again?

Also, I've felt kinda off for the past hour or two. I had regular bowels (no diarrhea) so must I have it?

  • Why do people think Troy Smith is a Top Pick?

Let's start off with his height, he's listed at 6'1 which is undersized but is going to measure up to 5'11. How many QBs in the NFL that start and go in the 1st round are 5'11?

Then you would throw out the argument that he has tall OL but guess what? He does not run a pro-style offense which makes his height much more crazy. You won't win in the NFL out of the Shotgun every year or through 4-5 WR sets.

Now let's go to his deep-ball strength. He has no deep-ball accuracy nor strength whatsoever. I've seen Ted Ginn slow down countless times in order to try and catch a lameduck by Smith. He won't throw for many yards in the NFL with that arm of his.

Now some of you are acting like Smith is this amazing athlete which he is not. Vick, Vince Young, Seneca Wallace, etc. all ran in the 4.3-4.4 range which is freakishly fast. Smith runs around a 4.7 which is not bad but hardly faster than Brady Quinn.

Just wondering, why do people actually think that?

  • Stomach Flu?

    Hey,

I'm 15 years old and have had the stomach virus twice, I believe in my life (most recently when I was 8) and I have rarely been sick (colds is the worst I usually get). Now, considering I rarely get it is it possible for my immune system to be better or is it just plain luck? Many of my friends, family and girlfriends have had it but it's never affected me. I run cross country, winter track and spring track; does exercise help at all? I wash my hands 4-6 times a day (before I eat, after I came from school and after bathroom) but I'm constantly in fear (REAL FEAR!!!) of getting it.

My question is; is it possible to have a better immune system than others, or is this just luck?

  • RB Dillema?

I'm in pretty good shape standingwise but I'm wondering which TWO of these RBs are going to be worth it this week for fantasy purposes.

    Here are the choices:

    Travis Henry

    Thomas Jones

    Steven Jackson

    Frank Gore

    Julius Jones

I might as well just plug my fantasy sports boards as well:
