My landlady issued me a summons for unlawful detainer in the first week if March, and I had filed my response to the court paying $225. And the court had scheduled a hearing in the court, which was supposed to be on yesterday (3/29). But when went to the court for hearing I learned that she had dismissed the case on (3/23). Neither the landlady nor her attorney didn't inform me about this. I met her at the court, and asked her about reimbursing my money (the court fee of $225), she said she will not. What shall I do?

Because of her false unlawful detainer case (she claimed that I didn't pay one month rent whereas I did pay rent and had the proof) me and my family member had to go through lot of stress, and also had to spend money (about $25) for getting ready for the hearing (copying the documents, printing the pictures, parking fee etc

According to the law isn't she supposed to reimburse me the money? How could I get my money back from her? please advice

We have been living in a 2bd/1bath rental unit in LA for quite a while now (more than a year). We have been paying the rent right on time. The land is a crazy old lady (75+), and keeps changing the manager every week, or at least every two weeks. When it is time to pay the manager, she fires them out. I have seen more that 35-40 managers sine past one year.

Yesterday, her lawyer served us the summons which says we didn't pay the rent for the month of Dec. 2010, though we have paid the rent. We do have the purchaser's copy of the cashier's check, and the receipt for the payment signed by one of her so called manager.

The landlord called me yesterday and said it was mistake by her lawyer, and she said she had withdrew the complaint, and we don't need to do anything, and we don't need to worry, but when I called the court today they said she didn't withdrew the case.

I know I have submit a written respond to the court within 5 days, which I am going to do tomorrow. After that do I need to find a lawyer? How they are going to handle this case? I had to pay a court fee of $225, and we have been going through lot of stress because of this.

Please help me.. Any good suggestions will be helpful. thanks..

Since I have got a job offer in Gilroy, I thought I would stay in San Jose and commute to Gilroy. I haven't been to San Jose yet. Any ideas or opinions about life in San Jose? I really get confused while buying milk. Some says homogenized milk is not good. And some says its good only for kids. Which milk do you prefer for adults and for kids and why?

My daughter will be 4 in June. She wants to wear diaper while sleeping (during nap and also at bedtime), otherwise she is potty trained. Manytimes even if she doesnt drink any liquid 1 hour before going to sleep, and goes to potty before taking a nap, she wets the bed within 11/2 0r 2 hours. And at night she pees atleast 2-3 times . Does it means she doesnt have control on that? If yes what can I do for that? Your suggestions please...

I have heard many grandmothers saying, one should not eat cold items like icecreams, or cold juices, yougurt and some fruits such as banana, orange, when they have cold, cough or fever especially kids. I am a stay at home having a 4 years old daughter who goes to preschool. I am 30, and I have bachelors degree civil engineering , moved to US few months ago. I feel all alone. I like doing somework, I like to be creative, and like to earn some money, but I can't work over here since I dont have working permit since I am on dependent visa(H4). I thought of going for a graduate school, but its very expensive and be more for international students. I heard about some online jobs, but dont know much how to go for it. I like to keep myself occupied but I dont know what exactly I can do once I finish all household works. My husband speaks very less, and least bothered about my feelings and will be busy with his duty and keep himself occupied with his laptop.I feel life is boring, no friends and relatives over here to share my feelings, nothing much to do. Am I undergoing depression? can you tell me what can I do to keep myself occupied and happy?We dont have cable or dish coneections yet?

My daughter is now 3 yrs 8 months(June 7th). She is going to a nearby daycare centre in Berkeley, CA since past 7 months after we have moved to US. I am a stay at home mom. Initially we started sending her to preschool just thinking that it will help her to learn to speak English so that she will not find difficulty when she starts regular schooling. Now she is very good in speaking english(almost forgetting our mother tongue). I am just thinking of stop sending her to school because of some financial conflicts. Do you think that she feels boring at home since she is the only kid at home and she doesnt have any friends nearby? Any idea about the places where she can have fun or some activities or any activity centres for the kids nearby? And her school schedule is inturrupting her breakfast, lunch and afternoon nap timings. Do you think I can keep her occupied her in some activities without sending to daycare till her regular schooing startsl?

I am very much worried about my 3 years and 8 months old daughter, who is not at all interested in eating. Her weight is about 30 pounds. Is she under weight for her age? She doesnt like anything to eat and there is no such food that is her favourite. She asks for chocolate milk whenever she feels hungry, that too 2 or 3 times a day. She drinks about 1/2 litre milk daily. We are giving her FLINTSTONES multivitamin tablets with iron since past 2 months.

We are vegetarians and for us it is okay even if she eats non-veg.

And I still have to feed her the food, while watching her favourite movies on TV. She doesnt want to eat by herself. She is in preschool, most of the times she doesnt even touch her lunch box. It is really frustrating. She is not very active but she likes reading books,(she just acts that she knows how to read), watching TV etc.

Please help me, how can make her a good eater. Any nutritious food that is good for the kids of her age? Any suggestions welcome. Thanks

I have sever body ache since past 15 days. For first five days I had cold, cough, fever. But now only body ache. I dont feel like getting up from bed. I think I got these symptoms tranferred from my husband who had the same symptoms for about 4 days. I took Ibuprofen 200 whenevre it was severe. But I ddidnt find much relief from that. Now I dont have fever or cough, but have sever bodyache. I have in my legs(muscles?) and whole body. Can anyone please tell me is this is Flu. Please tell me what should I do.
