A tiny white maggot or larvae.. what might it be?
I just found this wee white maggott thing on my kitchen work top. It was no longer than the width of my little finger nail and the if I had only glances quickly I would've thought it was a cooked piece of long grain rice. I wasnt moving so I think it was dead and had a tiny black dot on one end. I found a similar one months ago, in the kitchen, but not quite in the same place. We have no rotting stuff in our bin and throw away food if it goes out of date. The ceiling has a strip light on it and we havent had any flies yet this year. The house itself kinda had a thorough clean out a couple of months ago before we moved in and we have tried to keep it up. any ideas? Its a small fairly modern terrace house with not very many hidden nooks and crannies. It has been fairly cosy in here since the heatings been on over our cold winter
4 AnswersOther - Home & Garden1 decade agoWhat are my rights with these teenagers?
Ok, this my sound a little daft to some people but this is a situation that is really annoying me.
I rent a house and the front garden is filled with pebbles/small stones. The teenagers next door have been a pain in recent months and I was forever shooing them off our front wall. I caught their friends a few times too, picking up some of the stones and throwing them at each other. Our car windscreen got a chip in it and I dont know if they caused it. Anyways, someone wrote the neighbours a letter saying about their kids behaviour and the kids seemed to behave, avoiding my front garden and everyone elses - but only for two weeks :( This evening I heard the kids all out front... none near our yard but clearly doing what the heck they liked, knocking over wheelie bins, throwing a ball across a main road between the cars. I decided to keep an eye on it but it went quiet. Then when I went to close my curtains I WATCHED the lad from next door bend over my wall, pick up a handful of stones and start throwing them, over the wall, at the street, he didnt care. Then he glanced up and saw me watching him and looked a little sheepish. Thing is I am so annoyed! He had a group of youths with him so I didnt feel confident in going down to say anything to them. I dont know if I should say anything to his parents but I dont want a mouthful of abuse. What are my rights? Ideas on courses of action? My nerves are on edge and if I do nothing he might carry on doing it, leaving the street a mess and causing damage. Old people live in this area and other people who deserve the right to peace and quiet.
1 AnswerLaw Enforcement & Police1 decade agoI was considering buying clip-in hair extensions for my wedding but ....?
...my hairdresser text me to say get a clamp on pony tail. Odd thing is that my hair is not being pinned up - rather half up half down. Has anyone used a fake pony tail for anything other than making it look like you had a pony tail? Also, if I went for hair extensions, will they really make a difference to my fine hair? I am worried that they'll fall out and I'm spending a load of money on omething I'll use once. My hair is past shoulder length and very straight. On the day there will be some curls. Is it worth it?
4 AnswersHair1 decade agoMake up issues/combination skin issues. HELP!!?
I am doing my own make up for my wedding in December and was sent a brilliant list of products to use by a MAC make up artist after dropping them an email. I went to the MAC counter and got a match for the reccomended foundation and bought the primer and a few other bits. The foundation is great in so much as people keep saying how flawless my skin looks when i use it, but I bought a loose powder from the Natural Colelction range in Boots, to help it stay on and used light sweeps in circular motions with a big brush, as reccomended on various make up tutorials online. Now my skin keeps looking dry and this may be down to the change in the weather, but I'm worried I got my skin type wrong - I was certain it was combination as it isnt super shiney or super dry, but somewhere in between and I do get blackheads on my nose and in the crease of my chin, which indicated to me oily T zone. Can I still have combination skin and get dry bits at the end of my nose once my make up is on? I am using a reccomended No7 combination skin moisturiser and am applying is all over my face - anything richer usually just makes me shiney and doesnt seem to sink in at all. As the combination of make up I am using is making my skin feel/look dry, it seems to accentuate the fine lines on my face and the milia under my eyes (I hope to get them removed by a doctor before the wedding). Any ideas? Tips? I heard about Estee Lauder double wear foundation but apparently that is not suitable for dry skin and I dont want to keep spending a fortune on make up. Sitting at a make up counter having my face poked and prodded isnt an option either, as I find it a little embarassing.
I want to look pretty on my wedding day and this is becoming a wee bit of a night mare o.O I also wanted ideas on where to look for decent colours to wear on my eyes - so it looks natural but gives definition. I have hazel eyes and the colours I have been reccomended thus far have made my eyes look more green, which I dont think suits me - I prefer my eyes to look brown XD
1 AnswerMakeup1 decade agoI need jewellry & shoe ideas to go with my red wedding dress.?
I live in the UK so need ideas from stores/websites over here if poss, but cant find anything I like the look of to go with my wedding dress. Maybe diamante or an illusion necklace. My dress is red (technically bordeaux).
I have bought some silver shoes to go with my dress but dont wear heels and am finding them quite uncomfortable - they have to have 3 inch heels due to the length of my dress. As no one can see my feet does anyone have any ideas on comfy 3 inch shoes? maybe red? again I am in the UK so am unlikely to beble to buy stuff from the states. any pics or ideas would be fab, thanks.
2 AnswersOther - Beauty & Style1 decade agoWedding fashion advice for bride and groom?
Problem number 1: I am wearing a red wedding dress, the wedding is in December. My other half is wearing a 'normal' dark grey suit with ivory shirt. Any ideas on tie/waistcoat colours? I am thinking red tie or cravat to match my dress and maybe tie in the colours of my bridesmaids (green) with the flowers. Both dads and brothers have asked for ties to match my husband to bes... is that usual? Any ideas would be great and links to pics would be super helpful.
Problem 2: I have a silk wrap to match my dress but realise that it wont keep me warm when we are outside having pictures taken etc. Does anyone know of any good ideas or places to lok for jackets or wraps? No one seems to do much by way of jackets. The dress is red.
6 AnswersWeddings1 decade agowhat are these red dots on my upper arms?
They are not spots and are not raised above the skin. On close inspection they look like little bleeds under the skin, like I've been pricked with little needles. They are not uniform in shape and are mostly tiny. I have no other symptoms and generally have good health. They have not appeared anywhere else on my body and do not cause me any discomfort, I just wondered what they are :)
3 AnswersOther - Health & Beauty1 decade agoWhy do my feet feel hot when I am in bed at night?
It isnt a terrific discomfort, I poke my feet out of the bed and eventually fall asleep. It does not seem to happen every night. The rest of me does not get hot and my feet do not feel unduly hot to the touch. Any ideas?
2 AnswersOther - Health & Beauty1 decade agoI have been having pain across the top of my foot and it aches afterward. Now have pain in ankle. HELP?
I do not recall injuring my foot, it just appeared last week and then hurt less at the weekend (doing less walking) and is back with a vengeance now. I can put weight on it but end up limping. The pain is not severe, but has now spread to my ankle and earlier there was an ache above my knee. There is no swelling or bruising and I can wiggle my toes, although it hurts when I lift my toes. When resting afterward my foot aches and the area in the centre of my foot is tender to the touch. A colleague said I may have hurt a muscle which runs from knee to foot and may be a symtom of a problem in my leg/knee rather than my foot. I sprained this foot several years ago and the pain and symptoms are not similar. I did have problems with this knee years ago, jarring it after slipping when ski-ing. I sought treatment too late, waiting until it really hurt and was advised to wear a support and take pain killers at that time. Never had any of my leg x-rayed.
Phew.. thats a lot of typing! Any advice? Rubbing my foot or adding deep heat does not work. Over night it wears off and the next day it is back. I am fed up of walking like a duck! HELP!
