Energy/Heat physics problem?
It is important for the body to have mechanisms to effectively cool itself; if not, moderate exercise could easily increase body temperatures to dangerous levels. Suppose a 70 kg man runs on a treadmill for 33 min , using a metabolic power of 1000 W. Assume that all of this power goes to thermal energy in the body.
If he couldn't perspire or otherwise cool his body, by how much would his body temperature rise during this exercise?
1 AnswerPhysics5 years agoI need help with averaging numbers?
There are 50 trains of varying speeds.
0 trains are going 100 mph
0 trains are going 200 mph
0 trains are going 300 mph
12 trains are going 400 mph
16 trains are going 500 mph
16 trains are going 600 mph
6 trains are going 700 mph
How do I find out the average speed of the trains? If I add 12, 16, 16 and 6, then divide by 4, the mean is 12.5, which clearly isn't a speed between 100 and 700. How do I do this?

2 AnswersMathematics9 years agoWhy do conservatives justify their irrational hatred of homosexuals with a fairy tale?
I'm confused here. They cite this fairy tale as reasoning against gay marriage, but I don't believe in this fairy tale.
Aren't they also essentially forcing their beliefs down my throat because their magical fairy in the sky told them to?

In all honesty, are conservatives seriously happy knowing now that gay people in N.C. will be denied rights and Civil Unions would be no more?
7 AnswersPolitics9 years agoWhy were conservatives unable to balance a federal deficit under 6 years of economic stability?
From 2000-2006, the Republicans had a free ride to push their own agenda. They came into a stable economy and could freely pass laws. Since balancing the federal deficit is one of their main goals, why were they unable to do this? After 9/11, they doubled the amount spent on military and dragged us into a war which severely increased our national deficit.
So I'm just curious, why were they unable to do this the 6 years they had their freedom and then blame Obama for not being able to do the same in 2 years?

Similarly, why did the Conservative wing of the Democratic Party die out?

If for some reason you and Obama were alone together and nothing you said was recorded or had any repercussions whatsoever, what would you truthfully tell him?
4 AnswersPolitics9 years agoWhen deciding on who to vote for, does religion impact your decision in any way?
What I'm asking here basically is if you think the religion of a candidate plays any part in your views towards him/her.
18 AnswersPolitics9 years agoWhy do liberals think women should be out working?
If women were staying out of the workforce and in the house raising their kids to be proper adults, more men would be employed to support their families.
Seriously, what kind of sick twisted ideology do these liberals want? If women just stayed in the house, they could support their kids and leave more jobs open for the men in society, who put the food on the table.
18 AnswersPolitics9 years agoWhy do more women vote than men?
Looking at some past elections, the majority of the voters were women.
Any reason for this?

The "Anybody But Obama" campaign works for their extremely stupid normal voting base, but how do they plan to alienate moderates?
3 AnswersPolitics9 years agoDoes geographical location have an effect on political philosophy?
I know there will always be conservatives and liberals everywhere but I'm talking about a majority.
The coast states, for the most part, tend to lean to the left while the inner states and south, for the most part, tend to lean to the right?
Do you think geographical location has any effect on this?
