  • My period is thick and dark brown, should I be concerned?

I started my period on Saturday after I wiped and saw a somewhat dark red on the toilet paper. ANYWAYS, put on a pad and went about my day.

A few hours later when I went to the bathroom, there wasn't really anything on the pad, but when I went to wipe, there was dark (dark brown color) blood. My period has been like this since Saturday until today.. it's almost done I think today, but I hardly bled how I usually do.

I know that typically what I'm describing is normal for the first day or two or your period or last, or it could just be old blood, but I normally bleed like a dead deer.

    TL;DR

Dark and thick period throughout all of my period days with very little fresh blood, should I be concerned?

OH! I'm on birth control by the way, have been for 2 years, and I know this is my period and not discharge. I also took a pregnancy test which came back negative.

    Sorry for the TMI.

  • What should I wear to an ABC party?

I'm in college and going to an ABC (anything but clothes) party tonight and I'm not sure of what to wear. My friends can wear pretty much whatever, but I'm a bit insecure and not the skinniest girl in the world (as you can see in my picture I'm sure). Aside from that I have a boyfriend, don't wanna look trashy, etc. etc.

Also, I don't want to look stupid and frumpy either.

I'm really at a loss of what to wear, so suggestions would be nice.

  • Pain near belly button?

I have a somewhat sharp pain that is on and off about 1.5 inches away from my belly button. I just noticed it when I was sucking in my stomach.

I had this same pain a few weeks ago, but it went away within a few hours.

I really only feel the pain when sucking in my stomach or pushing it out.

It's not near my hip bone though and I'm not running a fever.

My stomach feels a bit upset, but that's normal for me for the most part.

Does anyone have any idea what it could be other than my appendix?

I really don't want to have to go back to the doctor tomorrow, I've been in and out for the past week.

  • When getting blood work done at Planned Parenthood, what do they test for?

I went to Planned Parenthood at the beginning of December and got tested for STD's, they also did blood work on me where they tested for HIV as well as syphilis and two other things. I was wondering if anyone knew if they included Herpes? I do believe so, but I'm not entirely sure since it was too far back and I lost the paper when I went to get my test results.

I came back negative on everything, but I was wondering if they test for that as well?

  • Could I get a false positive HIV test because I'm a little sick with swollen lymph nodes?

I've had swollen lymph nodes for a while, and typically always do due to sinuses and God knows what else. I've been to my doctor for it, says that it's fine and nothing to worry about. I'm a paranoid person anyways and always fear that something is wrong.

Tomorrow I was going to get a HIV test, but with the rapid test so I don't have to wait weeks on end. Could my lymph nodes being swollen produce a false positive?

I was tested 7 months ago, and was negative, but I like to get tested regularly.

I haven't had any new partners either, just throwin' it out there.

  • Can I get pregnant on my placebo week?

I'm on my fourth placebo pill (sugar pill) and I had started my period yesterday, my boyfriend and I had sex and he ejaculated in me, and I woke up today and my period was gone. I'm quite confused, a little anxious, and want to know what gives? I know you're supposed to be protected from pregnancy during your placebo week if you took your pills correctly, which I have, but it's just strange to me why my period would disappear.

  • What can I do to get rid of my ear infection?

I do not want to go to the doctor and take antibiotics because I am on birth control

    unless it is absolutely necessary.

Are there any at home things I can do? Or over the counter options?

I have put peroxide in my ear, which made it feel slightly better and have taken some decongestants as well as ibroprfeun. I just started doing this today.

If these were to work, how long would it take to see results?

  • First month of using birth control, and no period?

First of all I'm on ortho tri-cyclen lo and I have taken all the active pills in my pack, everyday, at the same time. I've been taking the placebo pills since Tuesday, but I haven't gotten my period, I don't even have cramps.

In fact, I had cramps more so on the last week of my active pills, but they shortly subsided.

I have had unprotected sex with ejaculation, and will take a pregnancy test if my period doesn't arrive by Monday (before I start my new pack).

If pregnancy is eliminated though, would the pill possibly be making me miss my period? I thought birth control was supposed to regulate as well (my period was VERY irregular to begin with, I would get it each month sometimes, and other times I'd miss months at a time).

  • How long do I wait to have unprotected sex if I started my birth control 2 weeks ago?

I started my birth control two weeks ago on May 4th.

At the clinic they told me to wait 14 days until I begin having unprotected sex.

As I did some more research, most girls start their birth control cycles on the day of their period or the first Sunday after.

I started my cycle on a Tuesday and haven't had my period since the beginning of April.

Apparently you should wait a month if you don't start your birth control the Sunday after your period, but since I've had no period, there's no way to really do that.

Should I wait a month, or is it still safe to have sex on the 14th day?

I'm 100% sure I'm not pregnant, just have a very irregular period.
