Does Apple have a trade-in policy? ?
I'm looking to upgrade my laptop. I know when my ipod died, they let me trade it in for a discount on a new one. Does that work for laptops?
2 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks1 decade agoOlder Safari update for Mac?
Hi! I have Mac OS X version 10.3.9 on my iBook. The new version of Safari on the Apple website doesn't seem to work on it. Is there an older version that would work on my computer? Would I have to pay for it?
Nothing looks helpful on my Software Update list.
2 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoBotched macaroni and cheese?
So I made some. All that was in the sauce was heavy cream, a little milk, and low-fat cheese. After I baked it for a little while, the texture became eggy-like. Why did this happen and how do I prevent it?

I'm planning on going to both. Do I need to give gifts at both? I wanted to give them one big gift at the wedding. I don't want to give two dinky presents.
11 AnswersEtiquette1 decade agovideo ipod frustration?
So I have a new video ipod. It won't let me add my own quicktime movies to it even though I was able to put and play them in Itunes. When I drag the files to my ipod, I get a prompt saying that the movie cannot be played in the ipod and when I try to sync the movie files from Itunes to the ipod, I get another prompt saying that in order to put the movies onto the ipod, all my music, picture, and podcast files would be deleted.
What can I do with it? It is Mac formatted and it is set to update manually.

3 AnswersSan Francisco1 decade agowork and quitting and work references question..?
So I was just hired to work part time, with very few hours and the pay to match. But, it would be a very good opportunity to work with a great organization. Now, I just found a listing for a great place with better pay and full time hours. I would love to have that job instead. My question is, if by any chance, I would apply and be hired for that position, how much notice should I give my current employer? The second place is looking to hire immediately.
Also, what do I tell my references who have really spoke well about me to my current employer?

I saw some of that stuff used on the DIY Network used for jewelry making. Does anyone know how to make stuff like this or know a good brand? Does fabric stiffener work with paper?
2 AnswersHobbies & Crafts1 decade agoSalary question?
I have a second interview comming up. There was a wage range of $10-$13. I have several years experience and even a college degree, so I expect to make the higher wage. What should I do if I am offered the position at the lower wage? I am not keen on taking the job for less than $13 but it would be a really good experience.
The job market is slow in my area and I am planning to go back to school full time in September. This is just a for now job to help me pay bills.
8 AnswersCareers & Employment1 decade agoButter substitute for baking? Low-fat cookies?
I am trying to make a "healthier" version of my favorite sugar cookies. I've managed to cut the amount of sugar and used a mix of real eggs and egg substitute, but how can I cut the amount of butter? The recipie calls for 1.25 cups. Is there anything else I can use?
Also, does anyone have a good low-fat cookie recipie that they would share?
Thanks.

My dad has two and we got one a year before the other one. The new one came in a few weeks ago. He would love to have one of them sit on his finger or on his shoulder. We have tried the "step up" trick, but it never worked. What can we try (at least with the new bird) that would get them to sit on a finger?
4 AnswersBirds1 decade agoWhy don't people get it?
Illegal immigrants in America come from EVERYWHERE!!! Not just Mexico. My neighbor is an illegal Irish immigrant. She gets paid under the table and buys designer purses with it. She doesn't pay any taxes! I've met some Mexican people who have made half as much and feed their families with it.
How about the slew of Asian women who smuggles themselvs in here? Many, forcibly or not, go into sex work. You've seen the "Made in America" labels? American sweatshops are filled.
Why is it no one counts Canadian illegals? Where's their border plan? You know thousands of them exist.
Is it because Mexicans are darker skinned, that people notice them and turn a blind eye to everyone else?
If you want to play the blame game, blame the American economy. If employers can't or won't shell out to pay a minimum wage, would you work for them? How about if it was to pick strawberries or mop up vomit? If work has to get done, who would they hire?
17 AnswersImmigration1 decade agoHow would you break the use of colloquial language in schools?
Particularly in inner city elementary and middle schools? I have been trying to correct some kids that I work with on how to pronounce certain words and syntax use, but it is difficult because colloquial language is reinforced at home. Some can write very well, but when it comes to speaking, they go back to saying, "I is a..." or "he be runnin."
I know adults who do speak that way and want to not. Some feel it is a hinderance when they want to sound more professional.
How can I teach them to break that habit and be sensitive to their home life where the adults may speak that way?
