  • Question on Space Junk in orbit...?

Can anyone tell me the direction of travel and approximate altitude of most of the Space Junk orbiting the Earth right now? I presume that not all of it is circling the Earth in the same direction. Also, what size are the three largest chunks of debris scientists are tracking. Seems like we need a debris eating satellite.

  • How do you explain outside temp - free fall?

On the remarkable Free Fall recently televised, the outside temperature dropped to minus 92 degrees F during the ascent. Then as the capsule neared the final jump altitude, the outside temp had warmed up to about minus 15, or minus 20 degrees F. How is it possible for the temperature to warm up as you go closer and closer to a true vacuum?

  • Regarding the US National Debt,?

Where can I go on the Internet to find the breakdown of US national debt by amounts and interest rates and debt holder? It seems to me that some kind of highly publicised site should have a listing of this debt and how much was retired (paid off) today, or this week, or this month.

  • Why Do Eurpeans have 60 MPG Cars and not USA?

A friend recently went to London and traveled all over europe in a very comfortable diesel auto

that averaged 59.9 MPG on his travels. We don't offer vehicles like that in the USA. Why not? What is wrong with the USA having powerful and efficient diesel engines also?

  • I'm in favor of expanding the Congressional Healthcare Plan to include interested American Citizens. Are You?

I think that Congress has wasted about enough time and money discussing Health Care. I am in favor of expaning the Health Care

Plan that Congressional Members already have to include any and all interested American Citizens. Would you vote yes to a proposal like that?

  • Why do they paint the inside of Solar heat Collectors black?

Is there any possibility that they do that because the color black is the best color for infrared heat absorption?

If that is true, and we have expanded the square miles of black asphalt paved driveways, parking lots, roadways, and highways by 100 fold in the last 50 years, is there any wonder that the Earth is getting warmer (Global Warming)?

Have you noticed that the major color of industrial and residential roofing is black? Hmm-m...That might be okay during the winter

season, but do you think that it is helpful in the summer when it is hot?

I would be most interested in your ideas on this subject.

  • Why is the Earth getting warmer?

I am fairly certain that if you are reading this question, you have read all of the dire predictions of government supported researchers who claim that the problem with global warming is related to carbon dioxide gas. Right? And, those same researchers point to data that has been collected over the past fifty years.

Given a moment or two to catch your breath, you should also realize that the Earth has been systematicly covered with black asphalt in road paving and roof top materials. Doesn't it make sense to you that doing so increases the heat absorption and retention of the Earth? I would like to point out that using a hand held infrared thermometer it is easily demonstratable that sections of black asphalt are ten to twenty degrees hotter than white concrete, the surrounding grass covered soil, or even asphalt with white painted stripes on it. If you will let that idea sink in for just a moment, why would anyone in their right mind go to all this "Cap and Trade" foolishness when all that is needed is to change our ways and make roadways, driveways, parking lots and building roofs "white."

The development of a suitable white paint or bleaching process for standard black asphalt is just as dooable as sending a man to the moon, isn't it?

  • What do you think of this idea to help pay for O)bama's Healthcare Programs?

Obama's Healthcare Programs are estimated by various sources to cost somewhere in the vicinity of one trillion dollars per year. These costs could be reduced dramaticly if he were to pass legislation charging two cents per each Email Message or Text Message destined for delivery in the USA. I suggest that if he did that, the volume of SPAM and Porn SPAM arriving in our computer mail boxes would drop way down and allow us to move ahead with our normal lives instead of plowing thru unwanted spam and porno trash.

  • Somali Pirates...Isn't it time that the US deploy "Q Ships" again, just like in World War II?

In the Second World War the United States and England deployed "Q Ships" which were armed cargo ships with the canons hidden from view. They looked like innocent merchantmen steamers. When spotted and attacked by German submarines, the disguises were thrown to the side and the guns began blazing away to try and sink the enemy submarines.

Somali Pirates are attacking innocent cargo ships with a total lack of fear and caution. I think it is time for nations of the world to return to the Q Ship philosophy and blow the Somali Pirates out of the water. What do you think?

  • Don't you think it is time for the USA to deploy "Q Ships" to lure in Somali Pirates?

During World War II, "Q Ships" were deployed to lure German submarines into attack positions. When the submarines made torpedo runs or surface gun attack runs on the "Q Ships", hidden gun mounts were quickly uncovered and began blasting away at the subs. The repeated attacks on innocent commercial shipping by the Somali Pirates present us with a similar opportunity. Isn't it time that we take this historical fact into our operational plans to clean up piracy on the high seas and outrageous hostage taking?

  • Will Obama Outlaw the Inheiritance Tax?

When you die, the US Federal government levies a tax upon everything that you leave behind for others in your close family to inherit. This tax should be illegal since everything you have was already taxed when you earned it. Why should it be taxed again when it passes to your spouse and children, etc., after you die?

  • How should we clean up all the debris in Space?

NASA and the Military report that there are some 17,000 significant items of debris orbiting the Earth in space. All of these objects can become dangerous to space launches or existing satellites that are already in orbit. What would be the easiest way to clean up all of this junk and prevent future collisions with working systems and operating space flights?

  • Big 3 Automakers...Whom do they think will buy cars?

Over one million Americans have lost their jobs this year. Thousands of jobs have moved overseas. The Big 3 Automakers (Ford, GM, and Chrysler) have approached the US Congress for Billions of Dollars to bail them out in this period of recession. I fail to see who these automakers assume will purchase the cars that they "continue" to make and have already made and are sitting 'unsold" on the lots of thousands of car dealerships. Do you think that we really should perpetuate this process of "big blocks", "high horsepower", and "low gas mileage?"

  • How many Seals and Rangers would it take to deal with the Somali Pirates?

I watch the Military Channel all the time, and I suspect that I have fallen victim to all the "hype" and "hoopla" that one can pick up there. I don't seriously think that all infantry men have all of these high tech weapons, and I don't believe that the USA has thousands and thousands of SEALS and RANGERS.

However, I would like your honest opinion about how many Seals, or how many Rangers it would take to clean up this Somali Pirate problem and rid the seas of the piracy/hostage taking threat.

  • Where is the US Navy when the Somali Pirates attack?

I would like to know what part the US Navy is playing in the new threat to global shipping posed by these pirates operating in the Somali Coastal Area. How many vessels do we have supporting this piracy elimination threat? What success, if any, have they had so far?

What type of intelligence operations are being set up to track and identify the supporters of the Pirate organizations? Have they mounted any recent operations to cut off or destroy these pirates before they strike again? Why not?

  • What does President Elect Barack Obama think about Somali Pirates?

Now that we have a new President coming into office within a few weeks, what exactly is his plan for elimination of the Somali Pirates threat to global shipping? Certainly we have enough small frigates and coastal vessels to easily help eliminate this threat from coastal areas.

    Will he act?

  • What is the US Navy doing about the Somali Pirates?

With the fall of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of the Soviet Union, there ought to be a surplus of US Navy Frigates and Submarines sitting around somewhere. Why can't we activate some of those to curise up and down the Somali Coast and eliminate the Somali Pirate threat from the world shipping community? Certainly the US Navy can contribute something to this global problem. When will this happen?

  • Should we have 2009 "Q SHIPS"?

In previous wars countries have built and operated transport ships which looked innocent enough, but were in fact heavily armed attack vessels sent out to lure enemy submarines close in so that the armed transport ships (Q SHIPS) could reveal their guns and sink the subs.

Isn't it about time that we threw together about five or ten of those Q Ships and drove them up and down the Somali Coast to draw the attention of the Somali Pirates? What do you think?

Who is signaling information to the Pirates about which ships to attack? Their location, etc.? Why haven't their been any attempts to locate these spies and shut down their operations?
