  • What is she mixed with?*pictures*?

This is Camo. Im wondering what she is mixed with. She obviously has either pit or staffie in her, and her coat is too long and soft to be full blooded...but ive heard she looks like shes mixed with presa canario, cane corso, and boxer! What does she look like to you? I got her when she was 4 mo, found her in a box on the side of the road. She was heavily infested with worms, so she is definately stunted.

She is currently between 7-8mo and almost 40lbs.

Here are some pictures of her.

(Dont mind the diaper on the Doberman...BOTH girls were spayed on 1/28/09...*YAY!*, so no rude comments, plz)

  • What are these HUGE lumps INSIDE my puppy's belly?**PICTURES**?

I have this puppy that I found about a month ago, and decided to keep her. I have allready taken her to the vet, and had her shots and etc...and I asked about this lump, and she said that it could be worms, and gave her a wormer. Now their are two lumps, and the rotate INSIDE of her!!! This is NOT worms! She will go back to the vet soon, I just want to know if their is anyone else with similar experiences, and since the vet didnt have anything to say about it last time. It seems to bother this puppy when you apply pressure to these lumps, and sometimes she seems to struggle to breathe when they move. Any ideas?

NO rude comments please...and she has already been to the vet, and will go back. It just seems that my vet doesnt know what it is.

It doesnt stay in the same spot, and I only see them when she is laying down, either on her side or belly. Sometimes it buldges out of her side. The pictures labeled Oct 21 pictures 1-4 were taken one right after the other...and it shows that the lump has moved, and is rotating.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Are these insect bites or hives? *pictures*?

I just got this horse back from a bad situation on 8/18/08. On that day, I noticed some small raised bumps on her rear, and a few on her back. On 8/19, there were more of the small bumps, but only on her right side. I hosed her down, and washed her in baby shampoo to rule out irritation from some medicine that was put on a sore on her withers, and the next day (8/20) They were still there...no more appeared, but they are bigger. They obviously irritate her, she scratches on a tree all day. This is what they look like today.

    http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n25/xxbamagirl2...

I have talked to a vet, and he said there really wasnt anything he could do...to hose her down, and give her benadryl, which I did. Didnt seem to help any. She eats and drinks just fine. Do these look like hives or insect bites? Is there anything I can do for her, comfort her, make them go away?? My first thought is these were hives...but they are only on one side of her, and a few on her neck(right side) and chest...and a few more on her legs (all 4).

  • 4mo filly started kicking at people?!? Mare not picking up feet?

I have a 4mo draft cross filly, and she (up until now) had that awesome laid back draft horse attitude. I purchased her along with her mother back in April of this year, and it was obvious that the mother (a 4yo Percheron) hadnt been handled much or either mistreated. She is very shy and skiddish, and her feet have NEVER been done. I have been working with her on picking up her feet to no avail. We have discussed sedating her, but now she runs from me when she sees a lead line, and now i have to work on her coming to me. She doesnt like for me to touch her below the knees on any leg...and her feet are terrible! What can I do to get her to pick up her feet? She panics when i try, and takes off...usually damaging whatever she is tied to!

Now back to the filly, I have worked with her extensively and successfully. She was coming along nicely, had a halter on her, go her picking up her feet, stands quietly to be scratched and brushed, and leads ok. She has a puppy dog personality, and comes to you as soon as you show up. Now all of the sudden she is kicking at my boyfriend!! High and hard with BOTH back feet. Luckily she hasnt struck him yet, but I am confused as to why she is doing this? She would swing her backside around at you when I first got her, and she kicked at me once....but it was just that once, and one leg...a little "cow kick". Never kicked at me or anyone else since then...until now. What could cause her to do this? My boyfriend was just carrying her feed out to her the other day, which was the last time she kicked at him, and she has been eating out of her own trough for about a month now, so it wasnt anything out of the ordinary.

  • Horse has raised lump on spine. What is this?

I recently purchased a horse from a friend of mine. I must note that my friend is extremely large and heavy standing at 6'7" and close to 400lbs!! WAAAY too heavy for this mare, not to mention she is about 150 pounds underweight. The horse (an Appendix mare..that looks like a Thoroughbred) has a large raised spot on her spine...just where the back of his large western sqaure skirt saddle touches. What is this? Could this be a saddle sore? It appears to be the length of 2-3 vertebrae and is as wide as 4 of my fingers...and there is no hair on the very top of it. It doesnt seem to bother her when I touch/press it. But she is sore even to brush when he gets done riding her. She stands with her hips higher than her shoulders...but she isnt sway back. I will attach some pictures soon.

  • How long do hookworms live in the dirt? what kills them?

I have a puppy that got hookworms from a dog I was (dog) sitting. I later found out that the other dog came from an irresponsible breeder that has a massive hookworm infestation!! Her puppies die!! She has lost 7 puppies just from the last litter! I did not know this, or I would not have agreed to watch the pup. Now my dog has hookworms. I have always scooped her poop, I have a sealed bucket lined with a trash bag that I put the poop in, and then dispose of it. Is this a good way?? I have heard that the worms will still be in the dirt, even after the poop is gone. How long will it be there? I live in GA, so the climate is ideal for these worms. How can I kill it? The vet dewormed my dog, and I bought some heartgaurd plus, so she is good.

  • How and where do i get my doberman puppy tested for genetic issues?

My female doberman puupy in 4 and a half months old. She will be 5mo on March 8. I recently found out that the breeder I bought her from did NOT have her parents tested for ANYTHING! I know there were suppose to be some tests...like hip and elbow. What test are there for her, and how old does she have to be to get them? Is it expensive?

  • Is this normal for my 4mo Doberman Pinscher puppy?

I have 2 questions, actually. First of all, my puppy is teething, they are at the point where they are falling out on the floor. Her breath smells horrible!!! Ive given her breath treats, and teething bones, but it doesnt seem to help. Her breath smells like blood!! Is this normal? If not is there something to help with the smell?

My second question: I have noticed that my puppy's shoulder pops noticably loud sometime when she stretches or jumps. Seems to me like she would be too young for that. It is always the same shoulder, and it doesnt seem to phase her, not painful to the touch, it just concerns me. Is this normal?

  • I have a 7yo Red Dun QH mare, is it true the bad attitude is common in her color?

I have had this mare for over 2 years now. She is nothing but a bad attitude. She has a rocky past, which is what I thought explain her bad behavior. THIS IS WHAT SHE DOES: aside from not standing till to be saddled, once you get on her, she is perfectly fine...calm...does what you ask..then its like she gets tired or walking, and will start bucking, or take off running!! When you ask her to got right, and she wants to go left..she will rear up, and this go left despite the uncomfortable resistance of the bit!! But this is only when I ride her...she is sweet on the ground (unless you are the vet giving her a shot, where she rears).

My farrier said her problem is that she is a red dun, can this be true?

I can give you detailed info of her past if desired.

she is NOT spoiled, so thats not it.

by the way, she is 16h and about 1150lbs...big girl...and for sale if anybody wants the challenge!! She is a good trail horse whe she WANTS to be...and traffic safe.
