I don't appreciate unsolicited IMs of people just wanting to chat, so if unless I know you, please don't instant message me. This isn't meant to sound rude, but I get a lot of "Hi, how r u?" and "a/s/l?" I'm married, with 2 children, not looking to cyber, and not looking for "a good time." And if it must be known, I am in the Criminal Justice Department...specializing in Internet Crimes Related to Harassment.

  • Question for Quilters - 4-square block quilt?

I'm using a machine for this...nothing by hand.

I have just a couple questions...I've done one before but honestly, never worked from a pattern, and just did what I thought was right.

    1) I'm doing 4-square blocks using 4 different pattern fabrics, but it's very basic...all squares, no triangles or diamonds. My first question is...do I just use a 1/4" hem on the squares to put them together (and then to put the blocks together as well)? I recall doing the last quilt and I could feel the hems through the back of the quilt. I'll be using batting this time so that should help.

    2) Can I just make the front, pin the front to the batting and backing (just a flannel piece), and use a basting stitch around it so I can put on my satin edging?

    3) Is there something else I'm supposed to do? It's essentially what I did last time, without the batting.

  • I Need help finding a vehicle?

What's a vehicle that has enough space for 7+ passengers, and when all of the seats are up, not flat, has tons of trunk space for traveling, while carrying baby stuff? Under $35,000.

  • Can an image that is Read Only be printed from a CD?

A friend of mine ave me a CD of images to look at because she was having problems printing the pictures in larger sizes. I'm a photographer so I looked at them, but they seem to be big enough to print even as an 8x10 (except one which looked like the photog cropped it too small and can only get a 5x7). The resolution is low, however. I usually use 300 and these are 180, if I recall correctly. I noticed then that they are all Read Only. I've run some searches, but can't find the answer. Could this be the reason she isn't having luck printing them?

  • Is there a way to color an apple more red? Or an edible pearl spray?

I'd like to make "Magic Apples" for a birthday party. So I was hoping to find red edible spray paint or an edible pearl spray paint for cakes or candies or something to use, to make them sparkly and really red. I've never used the kind you use on fondant, and don't know if it would just wipe off. Kids have to eat these of course so it has to be edible. :) And taste good with luck.

  • Off of an ingredients list from a store package, can anyone tell me what real ingredients are listed?

I'd love to copy this recipe that's an artichoke asiago dip...but the dressing has technical scientific terms. Can anyone shed light? (I know what some of them are...but what sort of dressing would this be? I'd like to find an actual recipe)

Dressing= Vegetable Oil, Water, Liquid Whole Egg, White Vinegar, Liquid Yolk, Salt, Sugar, Concentrated Lemon Juice, Calcium Disodium EDTA

  • Is there a virus that has the symptoms of a sore throat with blisters and intestinal issues after?

I had a sore throat that was tested twice for strep and all 4 (both rapid and both lab) came back negative. Never really had fever. I had blisters on my throat, and then had other issues involving a stomach bug or something. My throat was sore for a week, and now it's been 2 days without pain, except I'm still getting stomach discomfort when I eat. Any ideas? If it keeps up, I'll be going back to the doc.

  • Is it possible to get a shock from whipped cream?

I was at Starbucks, got a Frappuccino, and before I put in my straw the whipped cream was sticking up through the hole in the lid, so I went to lick it off. I did not lick the plastic. Twice...I got static shocks.

  • Can anyone identify this spider? (Picture link included)?

I live outside Rochester, NY, which is in the northwest area of NY. These spiders (there's only one in the pic though) are usually black, or appear to be black. As you can see, my flash shines off of its body. They don't appear to be hairy to me. We get them in the house, and this one was on the floor metal plate between my mudroom and garage in the doorway. There is a large rusty nail head seen in the pic, and a blue balloon in the top area. I couldn't measure it...but I believe it was about 2 inches from tip of front leg to tip of back leg. One person suggested a wolf spider, but I dunno. Here is the link: http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y154/myimages2005... Thanks in advance.

  • Largest sensor size for a digital SLR under $1,000?

I'm looking for a starter DSLR so I'd like it to be under $1,000. But I'd also like for it to have a larger sensor size than 2/3. Is there one out there with a 4/3" sensor size for under that price?

  • What printer do professional photographers use?

For example, Picture People. They print them, not develop them. Same with Glamor Shots, since they use a digital camera. So what printers are used? And what paper, too?

  • What is the largest size printed image I could get from the following camera?

The name wouldn't fit in the question so here's the rest: It's the Sony Alpha A350 digital SLR. It has 14.2 MP, with an iso range of 100-3200. I want to be able to have printed something like 16x20 or 18x24 through a company that Photobucket uses, or Snapfish, or whatever. I'm thinking of going with smugmug.com.

  • Sales gallery for photographers?

I'd like to take photos for people, and would like to set up an online store so they can order them directly from the printer, but I get my profit. I have an imagekind.com site, but after a set number of photos it's a fee. I know it would likely be a fee anywhere, but I'm looking for something similar with reasonable fees for me...I don't do a lot of sales. (I'm just starting)
