  • Should you do something despite being frightened/scared?

Back when I was a teen I was really into horses so began learning to ride at a riding school for a couple of years. I got up to jumping small jumps before I fell off and never wanted to go on a horse again (I did but after a couple of lessons post to falling off I stopped going)

Even though I considered myself as an intermediate at riding I was still so nervous around horses!

Although I felt pretty confident riding, I would be really scared if anything went wrong (spooking, bolting etc) and even more nervous of being around the horse when I wasn't say on top of it.

Recently we made some friends with horses and I decided to have a little go - they all said I was a great rider but perhaps they were just being kind. ( just trotting and some canter)

But even so I come away feeling great and love the idea of horses and riding .

But I'm still so nervous around horses, when they back up I panic etc.

can anyone give me any advice what to do?

I'm just so cautious at the damage they can do.. But I love riding and horses.
