she is about 33lbs, short, stout, muscular, built like a tank, and really REALLY high energy. she is the sweetest dog to both people and dogs but its hard for her to get along with smaller dogs and children because she plays way too rough(often body slams and never uses teeth). making those smaller dogs fearful and/or irritated of her. the only dogs she gets along well with are dogs bigger and have equal amounts of energy to match her with(these are usually larger breed puppies). i really want to correct this behavior but its been difficult. i was hoping that she would grow out of it but it looks very unlikely. i do NOT encourage rough play of any form and i struggle to correct this problem with some people. i jog with her almost everyday to burn off some energy but it doesnt really help. any tips??? thank you!!

my dog just gave birth to 8 pups that where destroyed right after the last pup and the placenta passed.

she drank water but wouldnt eat. she still walks around and still seem to be looking for her pups.. vet told me that i shouldnt worry but how long should i expect til she starts eating again?

i just got her back from the pet hotel 2 days ago and she is acting lethargic and will not eat her meals. she sleeps all day which she never usually does and will only get up if i open a bag of chicken tenders(treats). should i panic??

im considering adopting a 11/2 year old male dog but my current dog(female) is only 11 months old. will there be any problem? i have never had two dogs before so i dont really know what to expect. any tips?

my 9 week old pup sleeps in her crate all night with out any problems(except when she wakes me up for her to go pee outside). she climbs in her crate and passes out like she's been drinking all night. the problem is that when i shut the crate door close and/or i leave the room while she is still in the crate then she starts crying hysterically! i think she might have gotten too attached to me. the other thing is i caught her trying to eat her own poop last week. so i worry that she might eat it when i do try and ferberize(leaving her in there for a few hours) when i am not watching her.

i really need her to be a little somewhat independent since im starting to miss my long showers and i havent left the house since i got the puppy.

the puppy is about 4 months old and the coat's texture doesnt feel or look like what the breed's standard says..the sire has the harsh and tight feeling coat but im not sure with the pup's dam though.

will this develop over time as the pup fills in? the pup is already about the same height as its father..

out of curiosity. assuming they all keep their dogs in the house with them as pets. do they know when the female would come in heat? and just lock her up til her cycle is over. females can come in heat unexpectedly no? or do they have them all locked up in cages/crates?? i ask because i have a un-neutered male and a female puppy. i dont really like the idea of neutering(but i will if i really have to).

i was in school to go to vet school and im currently been taking a break from it(2yrs break now)

ive been thinking a lot about on what to do with my life/career.

i want a "job" that offers excitement and adventure.

i DONT want really want to be stuck in a animal hospital neutering dogs and cats all day, every day!

i want to travel, see the world, jump off a plane, scuba dive, fly a plane, shoot a gun(not to kill people).

it seems like the military can offer me all of these. right?? im not really very patriotic. and i HEAR that you have to have some education to be doing all of the "cool stuff" in the military that im not really happy about. i'm so burnt out from school that the last thing i want to do is to study to get paid better in the service(i know. i know!) i want something more physical but rewarding at the same time.

any suggestion?

i've never had a short haired dog breed before and i heard their pin-needle like hair gets easily stuck on fabrics, couches, clothes, etc. but since i've never owned one how bad is it really?? i was considering a poodle at first since hair are longer and sheds less but how bad could a french bulldog be since its not really a very big dog..thanks
