  • MRI Results/Back Issues?

I had an MRI recently and would like some advice concerning the findings. I do not really understand what these results mean for me in the future.

Notable info: I am a 39 y/o, obese female with a history of back problems spanning over 20 years. I am also currently experiencing neck pain.

    Diagnosis:

MRI scan lumbar spine without contrast

    Comparison: None

Multiplanar multisequence imaging is formed the lumbar spine without

    contrast

There is prominent disc disease at L4-L5 with disc height loss, and

endplate Modic changes. Vertebral body signal is normal. Vertebral

body height is preserved. There is normal alignment.

The spinal cord terminates at interspace of L1-L2.

    Axial images:

    T12-L1: Negative

    L1-L2: Negative

L2-L3: Diffuse disc desiccation. There is no significant central

stenosis noted. Mild facet arthrosis changes are seen. Negative for

    neural from stenosis.

L3-L4: Mild facet arthrosis. This desiccation. No central canal

    stenosis or neural from stenosis

L4-L5: Disc height loss and disc desiccation. Moderate aggression mild

facet arthrosis changes and hypertrophy of the ligamentum flavum.

There is probable short pedicles as well narrowing the central canal.

In the center canal measures 7.4 mm AP. From stenosis

    L5-S1:

Mild facet arthrosis. No significant central canal stenosis or neural

    from stenosis there

    IMPRESSION:

PROMINENT DISC DISEASE AT L4-L5, WITH ACQUIRED AS WELL AS CONGENITAL

FINDINGS, CAUSING CENTRAL CANAL NARROWING TO 7.4 MM.

    NO DEFINITE NERVE ROOT COMPROMISE.
