  • How do I get a ring off my swollen finger?

I'm 27 weeks and have already been experiencing the swollen feet and ankles issue, although I haven't minded much.

However, today, I noticed my fingers were swelling so I thought, "Oh, I'll take off my ring so that it doesn't get stuck".

Too late. I had to struggle to get my ring up to the knuckle, and it didn't budge any farther. I tried ice to take down the swelling and soap to make my finger slippery but no luck. Trying to get it off only seemed to make it worse.

Of course, now I'm worried if this continues it'll cut off circulation or something.

Does anyone have any other ideas as to how to get the swelling to go down a bit or get the ring over the knuckle?

  • Why do I sometimes have trouble processing what people say?

Sometimes when people are talking to me or asking me a question they have to repeat themselves 5+ times before I get the whole thing. It's not like I'm distracted or doing something else when this happens. We can be in the middle of a conversation or at the very least, I know they're talking to me and I'm looking at them and focused on them. Looking at them. I see their mouth move, I just don't get what they're saying.

Sometimes I'll get the beginning and end of what they're saying but not the middle part.

For example, "Hey, I was wondering ------------ is that okay?"

    You were wondering what?

    "I was wondering ------------ okay?"

"I'm sorry, could you say that again?"

I'll shake my head, and really try to get what they're saying but it takes a while. This only happens once in a while, but often enough to be an issue.

And I don't have hearing problem. My hearing has been tested before and the parts I do hear I hear perfectly well. Is there something wrong, or do I just not realize that I'm not paying attention? It's very frustrating -- and it really gets on people's nerves.

Hello, everyone, I'm currently working on a bit of a project and would like some opinions on youth mental health care.

Accessibility/availability, cost, usefulness, a personal experience, etc.

Any opinions you may have on the subject.
